peace at war

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

That is an unfair coment that the Turkish speaking Community will bring nothing to a unified Cyprus. I am sorry that is so uncalled for.

Firstly the richness of the people (and when I visited the occupied area. despite the fact that very very few people spoke English they were mostly eager to help out - except of the Turks policeman at Apostolos Andreas...... man he was awful - no reflection on Cypriots though). The richness of the language. The alternative to religion, dance (although bloody same if you aske me). The Universities, the fantastic roads between Lefkosa and Apostolos Andreas, Kyrenia and Xeros. But man those universities were impressive, enough to make one go back to uni get a doctorate and teach there. Other things to bring are the Casinos and whore houses on the freeway between Morphou and Lefkosa (just kiddin).

I do agree though that if individual rights are protected then community rights will follow VP because you will be able to participate in your specific community events.

I also agree with you that not many refugees will return. Hence compensation is imminent. The choice ought to be given though and it should be a priority. However VP you too as does Talatmoron. Have not decided as to what you want. If you are going for aprtition then yu need to stay on track with that. If you want a BBF then you need to stay focus on thta and work ith the RoC to achieve that. I guarantee you that the latest farse by Talatmoron to stop Cypriots residing in the north from taking goods accross the crossings will drive many Cypriots in the occupied areas to move south, the people have tasted freedom and they are not going to stand being kept prisoners again. I assure you that if he does not let down on this issue and if Papadopoulos is smart enoguh to cease the day, he will provide enticements for people to reclaim their properties in the free areas and then Turkey will have a hard time trying to prove that she has valid reasons for occupying Cyprus.

Lastly NO Cypriot refugee or relative thereof will agree to partition. It wont happen. So you guys need to go for plan B, If it is worth your wait for 20, 30, 100 years then let that be it.

Listen dummy, there is no such thing as a "community rights" in any country

Then turns around and says claim your rights under the "RoC" consitution..

go ahead and claim your place under the 1960 Constitution, which I have told you to do several times, but you refuse...so why is that, that you do not and claim your "community rights".

His arguments are inconsistent, changing to suit his cause, he bends and twists like the wind to accomadate the GCs perspective and tries to ridicule and belittle TCs (his last twisted comment being we have nothing to bring to a united Cyprus but the shirt on our backs), the people he claims to have come from, which I still doubt very much.

He only impresses GCs like yourself because he says what you want to hear as his views are influenced by yours and other GCs.

Look at this argument..

You have nothing to bring to any Union in Cyprus, other than the shirt on your back.

We have nothing? not even 18%, no TC would claim this and proves his inconsistcy and crediblity which reading the above is sank to an all time low.

These type of people are a danger to everyone on the island as they will plunge us into a union where there are no safeguards to ensure there is a balance and system where the GCs cannot brush the TCs aside when they have what they want.

Miss Piggy,

As far as you are concerned the RoC or it's Constitution does not exists so what ever provisions it may have in it's Constitution regarding "community rights" is non and void, so they might as well not exists. Now, if you believe in the RoC's Constitution, then go and get back what you claim is there and want, which is "community rights". So my question for you is, why don't you go and get it rather than pissing and moaning all the time, and see what will happen.

I did not say that the TC's do not own any land by individuals you fool. The TC's or GC's do not own any land as a "state" to take their state to form a Union with another state as they did in Switzerland, which are called Cantons. You brought up Switzerland and that's why I mentioned about you only having what you are wearing, since your mother's land, and my mother's land and Halil's land and Shah's land are all spread out and are not in one "state" along with the other 18% of land owned by the TC's. Same goes to the GC's, since all our lands are mixed together. That's not the case in Switzerland, where each Canton belongs to it's own people all from that state. The TC's and GC's own one state, which is called Cyprus and not two states as you would like to call, RoC and "TRNC", so stop your silly baby crying being told the reality. You cannot bring the "TRNC" to form any kind of a union by claiming total ownership of that land, as TC land. Now do you understand. The nearest you can come, is to have a TC majority in a True Federation where all Cypriots will be owners of the North and the South, if we were able to form a North and South Federation.

You are talking invidualr rights what about community rights.

Miss Piggy,

Listen dummy, there is no such thing as a "community rights" in any country that gives you equal footing in power sharing, not unless you want to classify yourself as a Minority, much like the Gay community, Black Community, Hispanic Community, Turkish Community and so on to be able to claim extra protection from the Government for your community. The extra protection still does not give you any special treatment in running the government. As a minority, certain percentage of jobs will go to that group whether that person is suited for that job or not. In another words, you will never be respected in a work place by your colleagues, because they will know that your job was "gifted" to you and that you did not earned it. As a equal citizen, with your individual rights in place and equal to each citizen, you can at least be proud to have gotten the job on merits, and not because you are a TC.

Be careful what you ask for, because you might just get it, and then you will be kicking yourself in disgust.

Oh is that why the mighty Great Britain sees fit to have "Positive Discrimination" then brain box    Who the hell do you think you are talking to hear? A bunch of school children. Laws are made where the system fails them and the way you sell the "RoC" and the democratic rights of EU citizens in that you think they are infallible is just a joke. Th fact that discrimination WILL be used against the TCs should ring alarm bells in your head but the party line does not allow you to think like that. If you see a problem then you make sure that they do not happen. You might be happy to see a long line of TCs waiting to have their cases heard in court while their families starve or they are left behind financially but we are not. You seem to be happy to let whole generations of young TCs suffer after they spend all their time studying in TC universities that the GCs have had taken out of the register anyway so why not. Our children and young adults are being discriminated against right now and you wish for it to carry on and worse. Whole generations are being left behind when the EU took the whole of Cyprus in and is discriminating against hundreds of thousands of them. Where is the justice in that

Ignorance is bliss as they say Humanist.......When I last looked...The UK was in this EU democratic heaven that you guys talk about....Then someone looked at this multi cultural country and thought....Why have we not got GCs and TCs in our police service in abundance. Why are all the top jobs going to the Brits. Sure there is always an exception to the rule but on the whole there is something fundamentally wrong here.........Oh I can't be bothered to explain it to you in child terms Humanist so you will have to ask an adult if you do not understand. Have you not heard of "Positive discrimination" before..now I am sounding silly....Of course you haven't otherwise you would not have made such a silly comment........The word is that the Police and the other services HAVE to employ a certain quota of black and ethnic people. The company that I work for is so glad that they can put me on their books as they fulfil the regulations the local councils require that they must have ethnic minorities in their employ...Simple principle even you can understand.

Oh look an example of it in the "RoC":
Christofias promises to put more women in power
By Alexia Saoulli
MORE WOMEN would be included in government and have a seat in the Cabinet if he is elected, AKEL leader and presidential candidate Demetris Christofias said yesterday.

Christofias was speaking at a news conference where he outlined his views regarding the role of women in society and what steps he would take to ensure his goal of equality between the sexes was achieved.

He said without real equality neither gender was happy, but that a lot of careful planning was needed if attitude were to be changed.

“I think we can do this,” he said.

Christofias said women, as the creators of life, had to stop living in patriarchal societies and expressed the conviction that the women who supported him made up the backbone of his 2008 victory.

“Our goal is to deal with and prevent social problems that women face and by extension the family,” he said.

“Our vision is for a fair society, where women are secured an equal place. This will be achieved by implementing her rights and fighting discrimination and stereotypical perceptions about her.”

As part of his vision for women, Christofias said he wanted to combat the lack of equality in the workplace, both in the public and private sector, to create practical measures that encouraged women’s inclusion in decision making centres, to develop a social policy that was representative of women’s needs and roles, to combat violence against women and to fight stereotypical perceptions of the role of both sexes.

The AKEL leader said to bring about the changes, he would spend more resources on the principle of gender equality and would promote gender main streaming in all the government’s policies, activities and institutions.

Christofias said he would also set up an Equal Opportunities Committee to deal with women’s complaints of discrimination and would create infrastructures which would allow women to go out to work such as more public childminders, all day nursery and primary schools, and care centres for the elderly.

Nikitas, you are actiang like we are on the same level (north and south) and you know its far from it, i have no reason to go to the south other then to buy nice alcohol and eat some over priced meals while getting treated like a refugee at the gate, i can do without any of them, my business, my family, my lands and properties are all on this side, so sincerely tell me, why should i join you?

Although everybody would love to be among identical people in all respects (ethnicity-language-ethics etc) what you want and the way you want it violates my rights in my own country.
There is absolutely no way out for people like you (and this includes GCs as well) than either tolerate the other community or stick inside your own village/neighborhood or go live in another country.

Babylike wants and wants and wants, are only for the American boys and girls.
