I am a social worker with 15 years of experience in working with migrants and refugees, child protection and counselling and support to people living with HIV and those affected by it.

I have Bachelor of Arts major fields of study Sociology and Anthropology

Post Graduate Bachelor Degree in Social Administration (entitles registration with Australian Association of Social Workers).

But my best assets are my friendliness, honesty and compassion ;)

Without the Greek language you have as much chance of getting a job as a child escaping the neverland ranch without being groped by M.J.

Humanist is a Greek Cypriot GG. If his Greek is not up to current standards a short course will fix it.

Humanist, the positions you are likely to be qualified for are all civil service jobs. They are announced in the government gazette and are open to all Cypriots. Past decisions of the constitutional court mandate that the best qualiified must be selected. But this being Cyprus, having the odd connection wont hurt. My take on the scene is that Cyprus is in need of social workers because of the problems arising from immigration, drug abuse and HIV spread. There are also grants from the EU and you might want to look into these.

Humanist, don't even bother! Every now and then there might be some position available that might not even be what exactly you want and if you don't have some connection it will be very difficult to get it :(

Australia's loss will be Cyprus' gain. :D

Don't be put off by Cypriot negativity. Follow your heart Humanist.

How about using it as a springboard to a new career? Do you have any hobbies you can capitalise on?

Anyway . . . you'll need a good job to support those 9 children you are going to have

( . . . actually 9 kids might help keep you out of the army  )
