Christmas is a time for giving

Postby junemichael » Sun Nov 25, 2007 1:40 pm

They say Christmas is a time of giving and sharing so we really hope that everyone out there can help the dogs at our shelter by giving all their old blankets and towels to keep the dogs warm at Christmas.

Please, please think of the dogs when you go Christmas shopping and buy some food, biscuits or tins.

We still are not getting any regular income for these dogs of which we now have 110! Can anyone afford to give a little money on a regular basis by Standing Order to be able to keep feeding these dogs and giving them medical care?

We still desperately need people to donate a little of their time at least one morning per week for around 5 hours to go to the shelter and help clean, feed and give the dogs a cuddle - they are all very affectionate and just love seeing people.

PLEASE THINK OF THE ANIMALS THIS CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR.

Just a quick question, but do your dogs ever get out of the shelter for a walk?

Bubbles--
i spent part of today with June and Michael, whose computer is dead (which is why they have not responded).
the dogs never get walked because they are very short volunteers. it is a very sad case at the shelter as they are i desperate need of so many things: blankets, food, VOLUNTEERS, metal food dishes, money..... i took video of the shelter today, and many photos, and as soon as i can get home and get everything uploaded to my computer, i will share with you and the forum.
please help them in any way you can.
i will be posting more next week.
merry christmas.

BTW, June and Michael should be praised for the work they do with the shelter. bless them!

Give a little warmth this winter...

Postby junemichael » Wed Jan 16, 2008 6:16 pm

If you can help at the shelter in anyway please call me on 99786403. We had 5 puppies dumped at the shelter this weekend all under 4 weeks of age. Luckily we have managed to find homes for 2 of them but there are 3 that desperately need loving homes or foster homes until permanent homes become available. Because of the lack of vounteers at the shelter these dogs can not be properly cared for there plus it is very very cold now. The puppies need to be fed at least 4 times a day and kept warm so please if you can give a temporary or permanent home call me straightaway and give these puppies a chance to live. There is one female and 2 males, they are terrier type doggies.

We are still in big need for blankets, dog beds/houses and food for the dogs at the shelter. It is very cold there this time of year and they only have the concrete floor to sleep on so please look in your cupboards. Also when you go shopping please regularly spend a few euros more for some food for the dogs.

All the dogs at the shelter are loving and friendly just longing for warmth and love in return so please think about giving a dog a happy home for the rest of its life.
Thank you.
