Can some one enlighten me, i recently read that if the british troops pull out of cyprus a late 19th century law will come into force ,whereby the island will return to Turkish rule, i cant see how this can happen considering the turks renounced anything to do with cyprus under the lausanne agreement of 1923(i think that was the year)

I thought the British Bases did not exist officially before the 1950s? . . . and the British troops are not on the bases in connection with any guarantor rights for Cyprus . . . but only for their own ends.

So I am sure they can go, no problem.

The British Forces would NEVER leave the island, it's by far too an important location for them.

As is the USAF bases in the Turkey!!!

No such thing exists so there's really nothing to discuss here.

The British Forces would NEVER leave the island, it's by far too an important location for them.

As is the USAF bases in the Turkey!!!
