I'm not surprised. How many other Gcs support that puppet state by going to casinos etc.
What matters is to have conscience.

For those interested it seems Fanos is now doing a bit of work as Greek Cypriot public relations officer for the Jasmine Hotel in Kyrenia and has been sending emails (spamming) in English inviting GCs to cross over and sample the delights of this Hotel / Casino.

Bless him he'll do anything to try and raise a dollar or two

Are GCs given permits to reside and work in the north normally?

As I have written in another thread, I have recently come across two GCs living in the North. One works in the beauty salon that my wife uses. The other is a retired man. Both non political. Both say that they prefer living here. I'll admit that I was surprised, but they say that they have never encountered any problems.

That is some impressive venue.

Other than the enclaved Greek speaking Cypriots of Rizokarpaso I have not really heard of anyone. However their story is not so nice, they have been stripped of their land and in the early days post 74 invasion many were beatyen and some killed, the rest were driven out and once they crossed to the south they were not allowed to return.

Driving through Rizokarpaso, it was very moving for me as I wanted to stop and chat to people, however I did not. I hope that one day soon I will return. My aunt and her husband visited Rizokarpaso a couple of years ago and were told by the man who runs the Kafenion that they got used to it after so many years. I think the Greek speaking Cypriot population of Rizokarpaso is abut 1,500.

I can understand that the few remaining GCs there since the invasion are not pushed out nowadays . . . .

But could a GC refugee or GC non-refugee apply to buy a house there, reside as an RoC citizen there and work with the same rights?

(I am not advocating this, I just want to establish what "Talat4Turkey" is trying to run up there)

My understanding is that if you accept the puppet regime you are able to purchase no more than a donum of land. If you are lucky to secure a job that would be okay. I imagine they may allow you to buy land and home there and work in the south. You would not be able to have the same rights as residents of the Roc in the occupied areas, but that you accept the puppet regime and its laws.

There is also a Greek Lawyer in Kyrenia, and in a village up near the Blue Mansion there are many Greek Cypriots, I had lunch there 2 weeks ago.
