You just don't get GG do you . He is a crook and a conman , if he can take the Cancer sufferers money , this swindler will do anything for money.

no, miltiades, i DON'T get it. i live in a free country, i had no idea it was illegal for a northern to invite a southerner to visit. seems to me he's just a guy trying to make a living.
i am niave that way. i believe most people are intrinsically good. and as i stated before in another thread, yes, i do think it is abhorant of Fanos to take money from you, that was supposed to be passed on the the cancer society, and use it for his own interests. (time to drop it!)
i hope none of us have to know how first hand how hungry or desperate a person has to be to do that.
i do believe that his karma will come back to him as it appears to be doing.
however, i still have questions. is he being charged with a crime, and if so, what exactly is the crime? is he in jail? or will he be prosecuted?

GG , No I bloody well wont forget it , the man conned the Cancer Fund , not I , But the cancer sufferers , he proceeded to con other people including you on this forum for loans . You do not have to inform me that you live in a free country , of all people you must know me and my views on the USA more than anyone else.
You are a victim of the oldest con in the world , a guy that has somehow managed to charm you and obtain your symbathy. This guy is a swindler and a low down crook and NO I will not forget it.
Evet one on this forume knows that I raise money for cancer causes and it takes time and effort to raise money , I do not do that so that some little shit takes advantage of the cause that the funds are raised for.
This man is a disgrace , the good thing that materialized from his deception was for me to make the effort and visit the Centre where I made good their loss and apologised to them for his behaviour.

i didn't say to forget it, miltiades. i said "drop it." it's like a broken record.

Hi Tess, thank you for the response. No I am not familiar with the blue mansion. We left Cyprus soon after the war and only been able to visit that part of my country only this year when I returned on holiday and felt a bit insecure spending more than a day in the occupie areas. May b next time, thank you for chasing up that information for me.

Nobody responded to my question re the relation between Fanos and Makarios Droushiotis. They have the same surname, are they related?

Was it not the same Fanos who was supposed to be seriously ill in intensive carem in some sort of coma, but still able to check his emails from his sickbed? How do you check email while in a coma?

This guy sounds like a piece of work.

A bit more information for you:
The Blue House (Mavi Köşk) in Myrtou/Çamlıbel.
Before July 1974, the owner of the property, Byron Pavlides, was a prominent business entrepreneur in the Greek Cypriot community and came from a widely respected family involved in the motor trade with offices in Gazi Mağusa, Lamaca, Paphos and Girne; he was the main agent for General Motors, Vauxhall Motors, Adam Opel, and the British Tyre and Rubber Co Ltd.
Byron Pavlides was responsible for building the Blue House, and also the White House on the road to St Hilarion Castle. He was a man of eccentricities, so in addition to the White House, and a little further up the mountain, he built a folly that resembles a mediaeval lookout tower and can be seen to the right on the crest of the mountain road as the twin peaks on which the castle is built come into view.
A flamboyant man known for his eccentricities, Mr Pavlides built his houses in remote areas to ensure his privacy and was resident in the White House in 1963, when the persecution and oppression of the Turkish Cypriots was renewed after the brief period of calm that followed independence in 1960. The Turkish Cypriots took refuge in the mountains and in so doing took over the White House. It has been in the hands of the Turkish community ever since and is now an officers' mess of the Turkish Army.
Much is made of the building of the Blue House, and the dates given for the construction — as told by the Turkish Army guide, should you visit it — are totally wrong. There is also the fabrication that there are so many secret passages and underground chambers built to hide contraband and smuggled arms that Pavlides had all the building workers and the architect shot upon completion of the task!
Such is the stuff of which fairy stories are constructed, and the history of Cyprus is made up of myths and legends.
Pavlides was far too gentle to ever be a gun runner, no matter what the army guide says.
Completed in 1973, The Blue bathrooms can only lead the visitor to suppose that someone must have been under the influence of one of those psychedelic drugs so popular in the 1970s . . . and please note the inclusion of bidets — very much '70s fashion.
Some of the paintings are 1974 originals and may well have been commissioned for the opening of the house — most of them are tasteful and pleasing but there are obvious exceptions. Attached to a cupboard door on one of the landings is a photograph of Pavlides. It has been rather crassly altered by the addition of what is obviously a fake cigarette in order to make the image look more "gangster-like" and does no credit to whoever disfigured the image. It is best ignored.
The views from the upstairs rooms are over a splendidly uncluttered vista and it is from these that one can appreciate Pavlides's reason for choosing such a wonderfully remote location. What is described as the main bedroom has the supposed "escape hatch" through which Pavlides is said to have got away in 1974 and there is, according to the guide, an 800 metre tunnel leading to . . . no-one knows!
The air-conditioning is highly sophisticated and run by a central system that cooled the whole house, with individual controls in all of the rooms. There was also an enormous boiler to provide hot water. Given the number of bathrooms, they would have needed it. The swimming pool and garden design are beautiful, though the latter is somewhat neglected. There are various viewpoints and a belvedere that has a strange echo if one stands on a certain spot. Several fountains and quiet, secluded, shady places for gazing into space and contemplating nature complete the idyllic setting.
One of my sources told me that he had dinner at the Blue House with Byron Pavlides only a few weeks before July 20, 1974 and a very convivial party was enjoyed by all those present. However the fun would not last long, with once again Pavlides finding himself forced to flee as the Turkish Army took control of his hilltop retreat, In—1974 a Turkish General took up residence in the house and tenure by military personnel continued until relatively recently when the house was vacated and turned into a museum by the Turkish Army.
Any hope that Pavlides may have had that one day he would regain his property must have vanished with the division of the island and, according to my informant, he died disillusioned and broken-hearted.
The Blue House is open to visitors for a small entrance fee, and some form of identification is essential.

Observer,

Thank you for the informative piece on Pavlides and his eccentric taste in architecture.

I note that the Turkish army did not forget its traditions in the occupation of someone else's house by a general no less. Obviously all was part of the effort to reinstate the constitutional order of the island.

Just so happens that I am reading now about Field Marshall Montgomery whose chosen quarters were a converted army truck. There are armies and Armies and generals and Generals obviously!

It must be so handy to find places like Pavlide's house to turn into museums and churches like the one in Fterihou to sell to foreign art lovers to turn into museums. This kind of thing must make people wonder about those who say we should reciprocate in the south and "utilise" certain assets the same way.

Of course Montomery lived in a caravan in the desert. There weren't any houses! Later, in Europe, he lived in a caravan because he was on the move and it was easier than repeatedly setting up in different houses. At the end of the war he requisitioned houses in Bad Oeyenhausen, Germany for his HQ. All armies do it. Except losing ones.

Dear Friends,
Thanks for your attention and the so many threads about me.
It is truly touching how one man can make such a subject, sometimes even more than the Cyprus Problem itself!
So here it is: An apology to all I have hurt...
Yes I live and work in the North, what people call an illegal regime, which however has been more welcoming to me than any organisation, person, company or establishment in the South. My move to the North was not at all political... It was personal and I have explained this to many friends that have come into direct contact with me.
Yes people have helped me financially by lending me money which I am trying to repay back. Yes I am late in doing so. yes I was ill and I have medical cerificates to prove that but I am not using the fact although some idiots beleived I did... and yes I do have four daughters in the South which happens to be nobodys business. And yes I have been in trouble for coming to live in the North but I was offered 3 jobs when in the South I had no chance since I was an honest journalist accused for being stupidly honest sometime ago.
So yes I was ready to do anything for money, money that would keep me out of jail and my daughters happy. But what was it to most of you? No more than a subject to gossip about and fill the pages of this forum with mere shit!
For those interested yes I do work for a casino which makes a lot of money because it is a clean buisness, a visit could convince you, but all that bs about prostitution etc is written by eggheads that never dared to visti the North. He who wants me hung must call me so that I can provide him with more information, if he has the money to spend on a phone call. Truly my number is published in that paper Simerini but all I get is inquiries for the dinner I offered!
Note: One casino in the North is called ZEUS which is the Latin name of DIAS which happens to be the father name of DIAS Publishing the owner of that newspaper Simerini, Radio Proto and Sigma TV. Dont tell me you didnt know that Hadjicostis son along with Papadopoulos son share a number of shares in that casino bought with the Slobotan Milosevitc money because otherwise you are not well informed. Call me for more details on this one if you are interested.... maybe somebody else must be hung???
Nevertheless, I did not forget the people that helped me but I run into so much trouble changing jobs and residenses that I couldnt yet possibly pay...These people will be reimbursed soon.
As for the dinner invitations they were not spammed but send individually to most esteemed personalities in the South which are now on the client list of the casino I work for.
For more details please send me and email at [email protected] or call me on 0090 533 832 1422
and yes, you are all invited for dinner.
More later because clients are waiting...
PS Miltiades, what number would you like your precious money to be laid on? I know you go to another casino, it doesnt matter... I cant expect ALL of you to come to the one I work for.
PSS The HUNG executor must buy some rope and hang himself. Everyone is entitled to live where they chose!
PSSS GG I STILL LOVE YOU!
