Fanos does it again

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Nikitas » Thu Nov 22, 2007 12:46 pm

"I can understand that the few remaining GCs there since the invasion are not pushed out nowadays . . . ."

The act that 12 000 TCs come to the south to workd every day perhaps something to do with it.

It is nauseating to be discussing whether two or three or "many" Greek Cypriots can be "allowed" to live where 200 000 lived not so long ago.

Nikitas I said I do not advocate this policy. What I was trying to establish was, how far as a pseudo "government" the north has addressed the issue of genuine "migrants" . . . applications of the type you would get for a run-of-the-mill country.

I'll take this opportunity, so that no doubt remains in my stance on the invasion, to remind everyone that the north of the country has been stolen, is under illegal occupation by Turkish troops + Turkish settlers, whilst 200,000 GC refugees have been forcefully removed from their lands and homes and are in enforced "exile" within their own country by an oversized country that has a history of barbarism and invasion of its neighbours.

Anyone that has any dealings (other than to remove Turkey) with the pseudo "Talat4Turkey" state is participating in the continuation of this illegal and inhumane partition of an EU country.

GG Fanos is inviting people to visit the north to gamble, stay in and spend money in hotels built on illegally occupied GC land. That is the illegality of it.

There is a moral side to this as well- several of the casinos provide ancillary "services" to the high rollers from the south- including the free provision of imported prostitutes, limousine pickup at the checkpoints, free hotel stay etc. You know the scene, it is pure Las Vegas during the mob days. Turkish Cypriot journalists Sener Levent was referring to this system when he wrote his piece about the "Republic of the Pimp" article.

Got it now?

Humanist
I am useless with names!! But the friends that I went with are quite"up" on this sort of info, I will ask them and get back to you. Have you heard of the "blue mansion"? It belonged to Makarios's lawyer. An interesting place -full of escape tunnels and stuff.

Is Fanos Droushiotis related to Makarios Droushiotis?

Fano, I can understand you needing to make a living in the "TRNC" but sending out invitations to GC politicians is next to suicide... especially after the recent Stefanou incident which you no doubt would have heard.

What can I say Fano? You make your bed... you sleep in it.

Regards, GR.
