I do agree you have to get in at the start to get good deal and yes keep on top of things to make sure all extras get done. Try to stay friends yes nag but dont blow your top. lucky we had and still do a good working frendship with deveolper. He did a few things that he had no need to.like after we had had the apartment for six month . he asked if we were happy i said i found it hard to sleep with road noise, would he get me a price for a extra window and seals to cut down noise Dont worry i will do it no cost 10 day later done great. Yes he knows i may come back next time or tell a friend(as i have) Do not see big new build in uk doing this. PS.This was not a big villa but one bed cost 53. ooo

If I am not wrong we pass from there ...but on the other hand I might be wrong. I have a bad memory.

If Cyprus will be your home soon then you will have to get used to the bin next to the toilet ;)

Lena you mentioned gas central heating, is this in your house in Cyprus? How do you get gas to your system? In bottles?

House building and architecture are like ... well sort of hobbies for me. Recently I researched a thing called Sandwich Panels which have as much as 25 centimeters of insulation in them. They form all the walls, floors and roof of a house. With that kind of insulation you do not need heat in the winter or cooling in the summer other than small heaters and ceiling fans. And they are stronger than concrete in earthquakes and high winds.

In Cyprus, and Greece too, we still use steel and concrete, no wonder we freeze our asses off in winter time. Concrete soaks up your heat.

Yes is in my house. The company that install the gas heating to our house has trucks or associate with a company that has those gas trucks that come and fill the huge gas "bottle" that sits in our garden every now and then. I found out that gas in Cyprus is cheaper and our c/h is very good with hot water any time of the day without having the heating on and the pressure of the water is GREAT!

Also a tip...we do not even have to call them every time...they come regularly on their own...unless of course you ask from them not too and wait until you call them (not the best idea though).

I suggest it to those who want to install a new c/h in Cyprus.

Lena, that is interesting. I tried lots of firms here in Greece to see if it could be done. They all told me it could not, only if we were near the natural gas pipes would they fit gas heating. Apparently there is a technology gap between Greece and Cyprus. But then we always knew that!

At the beginning to be honest we had a small problem with something (cannot even explain it in Greek so no luck with English either) , but we have it for few years now and works fine. Actually my friends complain that is too hot in my house and cold outside! :D
