verto most people do not understand "racism" . . . it is a label they use indiscriminately through ignorance. Most people are racists. It takes a lot of understanding to get past something as seemingly simple as "racism" . . . and into a higher level of realisation, that there is only one Human Race.

We as political groups of people still have to negotiate for our own preservation, for own territory and self-determination. These are fundamental Human Rights . . . and the Turks have taken them away from the Cypriots.

This is a political / cultural problem . . . not a Genetic one.

i understand racism just fine. perhaps you should look it up. here's the wikipedia link to the definitions:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism#Definitions

You are desperate to cling to the belief that Human beings should be divided into racial groups.

That is an outmoded view not based on current Genetics.

It burst's the bubbles of racists' to tell them that there is only one race . . . the Human race.

I see you are having trouble digesting it too.

Get over it, there is only ONE race . . . the Human Race.

Phoenix--Enterprise wants you back on board. one to beam up, scotty.

Is that Lieutenant Uhura . . . my transmission is failing . . .

You better be careful Phoenix, we dont want you stuck in limbo!

How do you know I limbo

Well, we all bend our knees. Elementary , Dr Watson. Elementary.

You like music. It all falls in place.

. . . are you having trouble reading again, Bill :?

Would you have been happier if Bill had said, "CYprus was part of the Ottoman Empire"?
Maybe Verto meant to say the 'part of the Ottoman Empire' rather than 'Turkey'.

Is that the point you are making Phoenix?

For Bill's eyes' sake . . .

absolutely not

Thank God for the smiley.

BTW . . . Zan has come out and declared himself a Turk . . . by virtue of the fact he admitted he is lactose intolerant . . . can you tell Copperline if you see him

Zan is aTurk. A Cypriot Turk and proud of it. I see no problem. Others deny their Greekness. We accept it. You just have to accept their faith, beliefs. We have to deal with all this. I would like to call myself Japanese, but would not fool anyone as my facial features would not fit in. But hey ho. Its not the end of the world.
As you say, we all belong to the Human race, lets treat each other as such.

Your post is ALL awkward. If you accept that we all belong to human race how can you accept that Zan is proud of being turk? Or you separate him from human race?

My mention of "we all belong to one race" is in compliance with Phoenix statement to that effect.
I can go along with that. Then you can have sub-divisions, ok? Zan belongs to one of those sub-divisions, many of which can be found in Cyprus, UK and other parts of the world.
If you like, you could call Zan Super Human. He might even thank you for that. Why not ask HIM?

My friends and I used to go to a disco called north London whose name I have forgotten at the moment due to a few glasses of wine I had tonight at the "Emabargoed Ball". The place was full of TC and GC boys and English Girls.....It was harder for the TC and GC girls to go to places like that in those days.....The long hall in which we plied our trade was split in two. Not as you would think as in GC and TC but one side was the Arsenal supporters and the other the Spurs. Many fights broke out between these two groups and my friends and I used to find a safe spot to watch from because we were neither into football or fighting. The colour of a scarf was enough to separate these people from one another. they are all in the human race but separate.

I have put this into story form in the hope that you might understand the art of sub-divisions verto,,,,You are welcome!

And:

All lactose GCs beware. When the "RoC" takes over Cyprus you too will have to go according to Phoenixs' theory.

i know i am going to get yelled at by someone for this, but it kind of reminds me of a story i heard while they were taping the Planet of the Apes movies. they don't know why it happened this way, but it did: during meal breaks, all the actors dressed as gorillas sat together, while all the orangutans were in another group, and the chimps were yet in another group.

"Parole, parole, parole..." It's you who started to speak on his behalf, saying that he's 'proud', bla bla, bla. WHY NOT ASK HIM?

zan

Playing with words is so fascinating, isn't it? What have you lost in England if you love your homeland so much & very 'proud to be turk'. Stay here & struggle for 'united Cyprus'. It's much harder than just do it in this thread, eh? Like ALL turks abroad you're an 'economical refugee' i guess.
