They (turks) really don't understand the meaning of "Racist" & they won't. Let's accept it, English is not their language. I have 1 more motion, much more important. They say that there are a lot of nice people among turks. For all civilized people turkish occupation of Cyprus is illegal & condemned. Does any turk fall in with it here?

i am not angry.... i was just making a point. i do not expect Phoenix to ever change her opinion of turks, and rightly so, but just call it what it is: racism, and stop living in denial of it.

I have explained to you in layman's terms precisely why I do not consider Turks to be a genetically distinct race, and you continue to believe that they are a genetically distinct race.

As far as I am concerned, you could be labelled a racist for believing this and without evidence.

Now supply some evidence why you believe Turks are a genetically distinct race? . . . otherwise stop wasting time proving you do not understand anything.

verto most people do not understand "racism" . . . it is a label they use indiscriminately through ignorance. Most people are racists. It takes a lot of understanding to get past something as seemingly simple as "racism" . . . and into a higher level of realisation, that there is only one Human Race.

We as political groups of people still have to negotiate for our own preservation, for own territory and self-determination. These are fundamental Human Rights . . . and the Turks have taken them away from the Cypriots.

This is a political / cultural problem . . . not a Genetic one.

You can refer to wikipedia or shitipedia but racism is when you hate some1 for no objective reasons, such as either skin color or religion or national clanship. But Cypriots don't accept turks for the MOST objective reasons: for the 1974 slaughter & occupation of Cyprus' territory which has never belonged to turkey. If LEGAL struggling for liberation is called racism in turkey, then yes, Cypriots are racists.

You are desperate to cling to the belief that Human beings should be divided into racial groups.

That is an outmoded view not based on current Genetics.

Would you have been happier if Bill had said, "CYprus was part of the Ottoman Empire"?
Maybe Verto meant to say the 'part of the Ottoman Empire' rather than 'Turkey'.
