Iceman,

You being a moderate TC, what exactly are you trying to say. Are these flags up there to keep the moderate TC's in line by the "Pigs in Animal Farm" or what.??

Do you see the voices of the Moderate TC's being silenced by such Nationalistic symbols orchestrated by the Fundamentalist Fascist Partitionist, or what.??

And by the way, are these Turkish Flags or "TRNC" or as usual, one of each.!!

Seeing as we are being analytical:

What is a "Moderate TC"?

........ And by inference, what would be an "Extreme TC" ?

I Love your new signature Phoenix. Does this mean we have a thousand Phoenixes declaring war on Turkey? May Allah help them. Hell hath no fury ...........

Hello my little Turkish-Zorba, OPA! :D

Oh, Hello my enlightened one. Funny you should mention the word Zorba.
With Zorba the Greek and a few friends of mine named Zorba ( TC ). I have checked my ancient Ottoman dictionary which contains many words of Greek derivation (also Arabic, Persian, Armenian and a number of old European words). The word Zorba exists, but am not sure of its Etiology. Do you or any other enlightened forumers have any idea where from it doth hail? In Turkish it means a bully and/or Tyrant. Any clues?

.............and not so much of the 'little', I am a healthy six footer. Well I was, I think I shrank a wee bit.

This is what I had in mind when I called you Turkish-Zorba:

Zorba the elusive Tzigane, Zorba the archetype of the primordial attachment to life, Zorba the problematic modern man: All three are linked together by a common guiding thread, that is, freedom. Zorba is a free man who wants to remain free.

Zorba is intellectually and emotionally mobile, according to the tradition of the ancient Mediterranean peoples, and he is capable of being self-sufficient: he says what he thinks, he does what he pleases. The legend pictures him as an impetuous character, full of ardour, vehemence and enthusiasm.

Does it fit you now? :D

By the definitions given in the second paragraph, I supposed most Cypriots are Zorba's, we love our freedom.

The definitions in the first paragraph (the one we grew up with) ..................................look here Phoenix, I thought we were friends.

I suppose if the cap fits.............

I read all that. I am after the derivation of the word itself.

In Turkish the word 'Zor' means hard/difficult. So It could be the 'bully' or 'tyrant'. Maybe nothing to do with the Greek language. As for the Anthony Quinn character , we all love him.

Thanks anyway.

Pheonix
Having got our "freedom" any efforts to democratise the setup were destroyed by the will of the TCs + Turkey in unison. All this culminated in the Greek response in 1974, and the Turkish counter-response which left Cyprus split.

Good thing there's always someone to blame ! You tend never to miss an opportunity to 'dish it out'.

Its that kind of time when its always 'blame the other lot' mentality. We all know who to blame. Why not split the honours and take it from there. Our Phoenix will always have the last word though. Be warned. Bless her.

So does my "dish" agree with you or do you have a better recipe?

(Phoenix's Free Tip: quit with the personal generalisations unless you want to waste time on irrelevances :D )

There is no purpose except to further infuriate people, even if the flags are facing Turkey. I see no point or purpose in this whatsoever except for spending money for the sake of it. I sincerely hope this does not go ahead, and that they also start dismantling the night time light show on the mountainside as well.

This is our side we can do what we want, we are further form a solution than we have ever been so why do we have wait, we can do what we want in our own country.

NO MATE it is NOT YOUR side , you are not a T/C and you bloody well know it. You are a fascist Turkish main lander , you were born not in Cyprus , you are a bloody racist , a man full of venom , you DO NOT represent the T/Cs , I have told you this many times before. YOU ARE NOT A TURKISH CYPRIOT , YOU ARE NOT A CYPRIOT . The Turkish Cypriots are my people NOT YOURS MATE !

Thats your opinion and I respect it, I dont have to agree though. I live on the island where are you? any plans to come to your beloved GC state the "RoC"?

My reasons for remaining in the UK are well documented , its nothing to do with finances or business but it is to do with a matter far more important than artificial considerations. I will not go into it since Im certain you know what I mean.
The ROC is my beloved nation , including the part that it does not control.
My motherland is Cyprus which is yours ?

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

There are a lot of greek speaking Cypriots who also call the areas in question 'OUR COUNTRY' , legally as well. What can we say to those GCs from those areas?

What do you say to the aborginies or the native Americans? TCs are not that hard we are still open to a partnership solution as long as we know exactly what we will be facing and have safeguards to ensure we administer the north and Gcs administer the south and we are never again pushed to one side, allowing everyone allowed to travel and settle where ever they wish.
