Iceman, I'll be damned if I don't find the Greek version. What does Askin Kederi mean?

My grandfather used to play this on his oud and sing it to me when I was little. Maybe someone can give me a rough idea what's it about, I can only pick a few words here and there. BTW the paintings in this clip are beautiful.

This is a very well known traditional Ottoman song called "Üsküdar'a Gideriken" but is also known as "Kâtibim"
Üsküdar is an area in Istanbul and the dictionary meaning of the name is "on the way to Üsküdar"
There are plenty different versions on youtube if you search "Üsküdara Gideriken"

Iceman's mystery tune is "Epefte Vathia Siopi sto Mikro mas Dasos" first sung by Yannis Poulopoulos, lyrics by Lefteris Papadopoulos, music by Stavros Xarhakos if memory serves, though it might have been by Kouyoumtzis.

Moment the tune played in the office several people started humming to it. Then I remembered it.

The composer is not Xarhakos but Mimis Plessas. Apologies Iceman.

Lena, I am not the musical expert, I just happen to work with a guy who is also a great singer and has a musical ear!

Everyone at the office loved the Turkish vrsion of the song. They played it over and over and sang along in Greek.

thank you very much for finding out the original Greek version of the song.....If my memory serves me right,a Greek female singer also did very nice version long time ago..
