Bring your underpants, an egg and some pubic hair…
By John Leonidou

A NICOSIA Court yesterday heard bizarre tales of sorcery as a man testified against a woman whom he claimed used sorcery to cheat him out of £500.

Hariye Rezvanoglu has pleaded not guilty to cheating a 34-year-old man from Acropolis in Nicosia by telling him that he had been cursed and she could cure him for £5,000.
She was arrested in October last year.

According to the 34-year-old, who went to Rezvanoglu because he was having marital problems, she had already managed to take £500 as part of the ongoing procedure to rid him of the curse.

During yesterday’s trial, lawyers and onlookers were left speechless as the remedy allegedly suggested by the frail 69-year-old woman were revealed in court.

Taking the stand yesterday, the man told the court that Rezvanoglu had told him to bring a pair of his underpants, an egg, a spoon, a plate, a cup, a nail and some pubic hair.

“I brought those items to the next meeting I had with her”, the man explained, “and she cracked the egg into my underpants”.

He had previously paid her £20.

He told the court that Rezvanoglu had managed to persuade him that his former wife and stepmother had cast a spell on him and that she would rid him of the spell for a fee.

“At first, I believed her because she predicted most things about my life correctly. The first time I met her, she placed her hand on my head and told me about my wife and stepmother putting a curse on me. I gave her £20 because I felt sorry for her.”

He went on to say that in the second meeting, she told him that she needed £500.

“I wasn’t happy about it but I paid her… When she asked me for £5,000, I went to the police.”

The trial continues.

What cracked me up was the fact that the 34 year old's name is not mentioned..
Is the press worried that this prat will be too embarrased if his name is made public?

It seems obvious that the man was really jinxed and brought bad luck to himself a others around him, including the spell breaker. :)
In this case she was as stupid as him. She should have been satisfied with the £500. As they say: 'jinos pou theli ta polla, khani je ta liga.' :)
