temporary home for our dog

Postby mcfranks » Fri Nov 16, 2007 1:15 pm

we are looking for a temporary home for a lovely 1 year old doggy called frankie, she is a beautifull tempered and calm rottweiller that just wants to play and be cuddled all the time.
we are looking for someone to look after her while we are in the uk for two weeks from mid december through to the beginning of january.
please contact us if you would like to look after our lovely little angel and earn yourselves a little extra cash over the christmas period.

There is a great kennels in Ermi called Happy Valley.

I can't take her, I have two lunatics already.

:P Good luck in your quest, though I am sure you will not have a problem. :P We cannot take her as she would terrify our little dog, honest. Now, the cat on the other hand would just want to play with her!! Lunatic animals in this household I kid you not :!: :2guns:

McFranks

She is gorgeous!

I found a rotty bitch puppy in April this year and she's taken over our household, along with the 2 cats and our other dog we brought from UK.

Have you thought about trying the new service in Cyprus called "Barking Mad"? Instead of putting your dog into kennels, they go to a Foster family for their holidays too! The foster families and also the dog's owners are thoroughly "vetted" before a placement will be considered.

It's a franchise from UK and is run by an English couple called Helen & Dave from Erimi. (They are friends of mine).

Their contact number is Tel: 99 289 696 and you can look at the UK website here: http://www.barkingmad.uk.com/

Great concept but they are expensive. Shop around!

More expensive than the kennels perhaps - but what price to pay to have your dog looked after for 24hrs a day and know that someone will be there every night with them?

Even "housesitters" don't always stay overnight but just visit a couple of times a day, so make sure you check exactly what they are offering if you go down this route.

Good luck McFranks, she's certainly worth looking after. She's a beauty.

Just waiting for our monster to quieten down more and fill out a bit. She's at that "leggy" stage just now but even so, she's heavier than our other dog and a good head taller. But, our little she cat wears the pants in our house and bosses all of our menagerie around :-)

  More expensive indeed :!: Just been onto the website you provided and their rates start from 15 pounds per day :!: :!: For 2 weeks that works out at 210 pounds and even though you stated that they had 'foster families' I was told that they came into your own home, therefore using your electricity, gas, cooker etc indeed they just took over your home:? :? Am I wrong :?: If not, that really would be an expensive holiday :x

Not all 'house-sitters' pop in for only an hour or so either. My friend used to do this and all he asked for was the use of their car and a bottle on the owners return. Cheap as chips :!: Alas, he does not have the time to do it anymore, sorry :!:

McFranks, do you not have a good friend who can help you out? Fortunately for me another friend is always on hand and a neighbour feeds the cat :)
I do hope you find a solution. Your dog is adorable
