Cyprus is a buyers market and especially if you are looking for a resale property there are thousands available all over the island,may of which have been on the market for a considerable time and this is to your advantage when negotiating a price!So by far the best option is to spend time searching and rent something while you do it,rather than commit yourself during a brief holiday visit when you are under pressure!There are so many pros and cons to consider and as you are spending serious ,hard-earned money,surely it makes sense to take your time!

A friend of ours had an appalling experience with MRI on an inspection trip.

Best advice is not to touch any ‘inspection trip’ with a bargepole – you will be shepherded around and under great pressure to sign. Why not come on holiday, look at all properties (not just the ones MRI want to show you) and take your time over it?

great advice and i would agree go by yourself and check as many agents as you want, if you want i can recommend a friend who has his own agency in larnaca, he has saved me tens of thousands over the years

When my husband and I were coming to look at property in July we booked a day with MRI but after seeing so many adverse comments on forums I cancelled the appointment and am glad that I did. Instead we booked an appointment with Buy Abroad in Bedford. I had been in contact with them for two years before we were ready to buy and they were always helpful and never pushy. We did not go on a buying trip paid for by them as I did not want to feel beholden to anyone and that worked well for us. We met their agents out there as arranged and Kevin and Gill could not have been more helpful. From the off the told us that they were on salary so they would not be pushing us to buy and they were true to their word. We found our dream place and I cannot speak highly enough of them. They saved us a lot of leg work that we did not have time for
and their help in respect of the legal work was invaluable.
I would recommend them every time and I know that they cover the whole of southern Cyprus.
