I can certainly vouch for June because I have adopted one of their cats. I have visited thier home and it is indeed full of rescued cats and a couple of dogs.
Doesn't it make more sense to support a sanctuary that is up and running rather one that may or may not eventually open?

AGREED

PLEASE HELP SAVE A LIFE

Limassol District Animal Protection Association (Registered Charity No: 2000600) have a shelter just outside Limassol with 100 dogs inside that will starve to death if they do not get urgent help. They have run out of money for food and do not have any money left to pay someone to go and feed the dogs and clean the shelter. These dogs will die if we don't get help so please read on and find it in your hearts to help.

There are puppies and all kinds of breeds of dogs, all friendly and loveable just wanting kindness, comfort and warmth in a new home - can you make a dog happy?

If you cannot adopt a dog can you donate food, blankets, water/food bowls and/or money. Have a look through your cupboards and donate any blankets or thick towels you do not use any more.

Next time you are at the supermarket spend a few extra pounds on dog food. If you can do this regularly it would be such a great help.

Have some spare time on your hands to go and help at the shelter even if it is only one morning or afternoon a week, it all helps.

Do you have any dog toys or balls for entertaining the dogs in the shelter.

Any help you can give to saving these dogs would so much be appreciated. I am willing to come and collect any items you can donate.

Open your hearts for these defenseless, helpless animals - they need us.

Please contact June on 25311329 or 99786403 - THANK YOU

if homeless pets are such a big problem there, why don't they just push a spay/neuter program? i used to feed some strays, started out feeding one, they told thier friends, and before you knew it, i was feeding about 8, and it was sucking up my salary. so i started catching them, getting them fixed, and re-releasing them. (i did find a home for one of them, but in hindsite, i think she would have done better to be left as a stray.)

you can get it done here practiaclly free. you just have to pay for the rabies shot, which is a law here. other shots are optional, but rabies is mandatory.

i am beginni g to think taht instead of anotehr shelter, you should support the ones that exsist, and push for a spay / neuter program. this is the ONLY way to cut down on unwanted pets. by putting up anotehr shelter, it just is more room that will be filled to maximum capacity in no time.

:P I agree fully. Cyprus is overrun with stray dogs and cats and the number of people feeding them is growing too. These people do not realise that even though they are being kind, in the long run they are not as this just adds to the numbers. Catch them and neuter them, it is the only way. Does this June person neuter her animals or just feed them :?:
