I love poetry and I was reading something and came across with this.

So I thought I should post it here...

Written by Odysseus Elytis.

"Θεέ μου! Πόσο μπλε ξόδεψες για να μην σε βλεπουμε?"

My God! How much blue did you spend in order to not being able to see you? (sorry for the translation)

Devoted to Cyprus and to those who do not believe in God by me!

thanks for bring this thread back up again Lena. it reminded me that last night i saw a rerun of the George Lopez Show, which was about their dog having a tumor. The Vet gave them the option of surgery, or euthenizing the pet, and told them to sleep on it and give him the answer the next day. When they went to the Vet to put the dog to sleep the following day, they re-did the x-Rays, only to discover the tumor had gone! now OK, the George Lopez Show is just a comedy, but these things happen quiet frequently. i think every person on this forum either knows someone, or knows someone who knows someone that had a simialr experience.

Since we've touched on the subject of the existence of "god" . . . and since Christians etc believe Him omnipotent, would he be able to undo the past?

It's just that I came across these aphorisms by Agathon (from Aristotle, Nichomachean Ethics) which got me wondering:

"Even God cannot change the past."

and

"This only is denied to God: the power to undo the past."

who would want to undo the past. it makes us who we are today.
and before you throw the CY PROB at me, there MUST be something good that came out of it???? as an american, i can tell you that we suffered alot of pain with the 9-11 attacks, but there was alot of good that came out of it. another classic saying: "every cloud has a silver lining."
