Cypriots have launched into a row about the gas forgetting one fundamental EU policy- privatisation of the power distribution sector. Sooner or later the EU will demand, and will get, privatisation of the electricity and the gas sectors. So this fuss raised by the EAC unions will just vanish. Exact same crap happened in Greece when unions objected to the selling of shares of the electricity company. Naturally they preferred to be government owned so they could be quasi civil servants with the related benefits of fixed working hours and pension benefits.
The EU works in strange ways as Cypriots will realise soon!
