Man hurt using gun to change tyre

Postby Shipwreck » Tue Nov 13, 2007 9:32 am

Not funny but you gotta laugh! Only in America (could it also be Cyprus...it is hunting season?)

The 66-year-old man from Washington state was repairing his car outside his home when the accident took place.

Shooting at the wheel from arm's length with his 12-gauge shotgun, he was peppered with buckshot and debris.

The man - whom police say was on his own and not intoxicated - was taken to hospital with severe, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Apparently, he was trying to get one of the lug nuts off and used his shotgun to loosen it. Yeah...an oxyacetylene torch does a much better job. This is pretty damned funny.

what if guns were given out free, but you had to pay 3000 pounds (or dollars) for a single bullet.

That would bring gun crime down.

Airport security in the US is the tightest I have ever been through, there are police with guns, strict restrictions and signs up telling you not to smile or make a joke. You then go through, walk half a mile and find a gun shop!

I have been using guns all my life. Still cannot figure out what the man was trying to achieve by shooting at his wheel. The human mind is truly a mystery!

   I suppose it's worth keeping in mind that if we're ever in the predicament of having a lug nut stuck on a wheel and need to cut it off, a shotgun just might not the best tool to use. I think that's why he did it, anyway.
