An existing ‘TRNC’ flag painted onto the southern slopes of the range, and equal in size to 11 football pitches, already causes ire to thousands.
The plans have been denounced by Peace and Democracy Movement leader Mustafa Akinci as the product of “fanatical nationalism”, not just there to annoy Greek Cypriots, but also to send a message to Turkish Cypriots.
“This kind of nationalism needs both foreign and internal enemies to survive,” he said earlier this year, adding that it was, “moderate people with empathy for those on the other side” who were regarded by such groups as the internal enemy.

Maybe if they keep sending this message they will believe it themselves, the thieves among them anyways. But nobody else will.

I am not sure what might become of the Cyprus issue and what solution the British will come up with. One thing for sure history will at a time write of the remains of a lost peoples of Cyprus. The GC's may learn to live with their pain and sorrow and half the land they once called their country, but the Turkish Cypriot will only be mentioned in history books. Either way yyou look at it one community looses out more.

perhaps I am no Einstein in Cyprus politics but one thing for sure, the day you get your recognition that'll be your doomsday people. Realise that turkey cares less about you and she'll swallow you alive the minute you get that status.
