I was questioned leaving Larnaca aiport if I had a Cypriot passport which I gained the first week I arrived and did not use to cross to the occupied area. After being asked if I had a holiday home, I responded that on four occasions I crossed to the occupied area. I was thanked and allowed to board my plane.
By the way I feel proud to have a Cypriot passport and I shall use it with pride next time I visit Cyprus. However having crossed to the occupied areas to fullfil a "tama" ston Apostolo Andrea, and visit my nirth village I will not be crossing again as I feel that i am not welcomed by most of the population living in th occupied areas, that includes Cypriots and non Cypriots
It's a shame if these barbaric practices of the Turks / Turkish Army / Turkish police / Turkish Government / Turkish Scum etc.
leave us not only having (temporarily) lost a big part of our country but in a state of fear for our safety should we wish to visit part of our homeland.
There is a British family that were going to do the Cycling the Cypriot Coastline Tour with me next April . . . now I am going to have to explain to them the dangers of having to do this with the Turks showing their true colours.
At least more British people will be becoming aware of the type of people they are befriending . . .
DT. I am sorry you cannot grieve and mourn the loss of your Father-in-Law in a more normal way . . . but his memory and his bravery will live on and I am sure some good will come out of this for Cyprus.
Bless the name of Stephanos Stephanou.
