Is Enosis Dead or Not?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

So when the 18% is illegally occupying 1/3rd of the island, what do you want us to do? Fly the flags of the occupation force on our schools or what?

At least you can fly the "RoC" flags. You thanked and honoured Greece with waving her flags all around South. They did a great job for you, eh?

actually they have in recent times yes, greece pushed unrelentlessly to get cyprus in the eu and has put turkey in the position it is today, its quite amazing that just a few years ago turkey claimed and in all forms of life including the generals that the cyprus problem was solved in 1974,who would ever think that turkey in a few years has done a 360 turn.and they have not done it from there goodness of there heart but the grim reality is starting to creep in very slowly that for them to get there date they have to solve the problem that was supposedly solved in 1974.granted they are exerting pressure to get there solution that favors them the most thru but time will tell what will happen.

If they have thought that Cyprus problem solved in 1974, they would not attend the inter-communal talks and sign all those documents.

On the other hand, the ones who claim "Cyprus problem was started in 1974" deserve the answer, "Cyprus proplem was solved in 1974."

There's no such ultra-imbecile Turkish politician who claims "Cyprus problem was solved in 1974" and then go attend the negotiations to reach a permemnant solution.

Thats strange! Ecevit said himself that as far as he was concerned the problem was solved in 1974. Since then all Turkish actions were aimed at legalising what they did in 1974. Yes, they signed many agreements but what did they implement? NOTHING, ZERO, NADA.

It is alleged that he said. But I've never read such an interview, in what context and what sense he might have said it. Bulent Ecevit is not such an imbecile to seriously make such nonsense. Can you provide me the links in which interview he said it?

I couldn't see any interview there made with B Ecevit. After B Ecevit many governments and prime ministers changed in Turkey. It is a well known fact that in mid-80s Ozal, the then prime minister and later president of Turkey forced Denktash to go Newyork and sign one of the most detailed UN draft proposals. At the time Kyprianou was in office and rejected the UN draft proposal while Denktash by force of Ozal government was obliged to sign the draft proposal of UN.

I remember Bulent Ecevit saying something like "Cyprus problem was solved in 1974". I don't remember when and in what circumstances he said it but I remember watching it on TV and getting angry at him. It's good for us that he doesn't have more than 1% power in Turkey. There's no point in hiding the truth.
