I didn't read what is written before in this thread, so I will just say my opinion without commenting others.

The great great majority of Greek Cypriots would not choose enosis even if such option was given to them.
There are many reasons for this, but the main one I believe is that such development would not serve the interests of anybody. We are much better off by ourselves than being a far district of poorer Greece.

The same way we moved ahead and realized that enosis is not for our interest, it is time for TCs to realize that partition is not for their interest either, and work with us for a truly united Cyprus.

But throughout the late 80's and early 90s, "poor" Greece well blackmailed EU for her little brothers, Cypriots EU membership. Greece is also very happy to see her flags waving in all GC schools afterwards the intervention of 1974. There are also so many common things that make both Greece and overwhelming majority of GCs happy.

Sure, Greece supports RoC. Thats one thing and wanting enosis is another.

Does it mean that because US supports Turkey, that Turks want enosis with US?

You mistake bi-lateral relations with a country for us wanting to be joined with Greece?

What about the very close ties with France and Germany? Is that a problem for you also?

Enosis is dead Insan. It was dead long ago and 99% of Greek Cypriots do not want or care for it. Why do you try to convince otherwise?

Apart from Greece, no any other EU countries blackmailed EU for the membership of Cyprus.

Apart from Greece, there's no any other EU countrie's flags waving in all schools of GCs.

Apart from Greece, there's no any other EU countries which has a concensus upon "national cause" of Hellenes.

Apart from GCs there's no any other EU countries using Greece's national anthem.

Doesn't it seem to you ultra- extra ordinary? You are politically and culturally have been integrated with Greece but you are not aware.

The meaning of Enosis is political and cultural integration of Greeks and GCs. And this has already been achieved. However not in TC controlled areas.

Politically we are independent Insan. In RoC we do not have 1/2nd of our population mainland Greeks with voting rights to decide who will win in our elections. Greece simply supports our decisions, and this was shown with the Annan plan.

Culturally we are quite close to Greece. If we were not why would they call us Greek Cypriots? Is that a problem?

Insan,

You are just plain WRONG!

The laws of Cyprus have nothing to do with those of Greece for example. Politically, we are independent of Greece. Greece does not tell Cyprus what to do. Its as simple as that.

Cultural links will inevitably be there. We speak the same language, we have the same religion we have similar customs so its only natural that we have ties in those areas. Does that mean enosis? NO IT DOES NOT.

As for blackmail, well I guess the Turks know all about that don't they!
