Tourism woes

http://www.cyprusweekly.com.cy/default. ... =Viewpoint

No Ledra crossing while Turk troops remain

http://www.cyprusweekly.com.cy/default. ... NewsID=254

easyJet coming to Cyprus

http://www.cyprusweekly.com.cy/default. ... NewsID=258

Where is the money going then (I am basing this on a confusing part in which the report states that numbers are going up but then contradicts it self)……….Black market or the TRNC????And what type of tourist can you now expect?

so why does the hotel industry hire all thesse non-english speaking or foreign people to work for them? why not hire Cypriots? if this is a percieved problem, the solution should be to hire the Cypriots. please explain why they are not hiring your own kind?

Cyprus is less dependent on tourism today than it was in 2001. The economy in general is today much better than it was then, but even in Tourism this year was much better than 2006.

What are you talking about? We made a bit less from tourism (in comparison with 2001) but we made more from other services. Whats the problem?

In fact we always said that Cyprus should become less dependent on tourism since this industry is very unstable, especially in our region where there is some trouble every few years.
