Bitter new row between Tassos and Christofias

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Bananiot » Fri Nov 09, 2007 9:15 am

The Cyprus Physics Organisation invited Einstein to Cyprus for a lecture at the Hilton. It was a packed house and when it finished everybody was very excited. Dinner was served and old Eistein got to know the marvel of Zivania. A beaming gentleman approached his table and congratulated Einstein who duly asked:

- What IQ do you have?
- 250, replied the gent.

The two men started talking about the relativity theory ...

Half an hour later, another person comes up to Einstein's table in order to congratulate him. Einstein asked:

- What IQ do you have?
- 200, replied the guy.

Very good, responded Einstein and the two men started discussing about black holes (those in space, GR)

Hardly a minute had passed before another individual came up to Einstein (no, it wasn't Piratis). Einstein asked:

- What IQ do you have?
- 150, replied the individual.

Hm, Einstein responded, what do you think of the ozone hole? Their discussion centred thereafter on environmental threats.

The next person that conjured enough courage to approach Einstein confessed of having an IQ of 100. Einstein was quite happy to discuss the prospects of Omonoia winning the championship with him.

Just before the esteemed guests were about to depart, a waiter approaches Einstein.

- Sir, he says to him, I did not understand much of what you said, but you sounded really good.
- What is your IQ, Einstein asked.
- 70, replied the waiter.
- What do you think, responded Einstein, will we elect Papadopoulos for another term?

I remembered the above reading GR's response to my earlier post where he advises me to get my IQ tested. That is fine, I have no problem with this. What bothers me is the distortion of the historical truth and the tendency to light-heartedly modify history in order to make it fit our vanity.

The Akrita Plan was a plan that aimed at anhilating anyone that got in the way of enosis. I repeat something I said before. This plan came as a package. Along with it came the "Organisation" which had a structure and a job to do. It had arms and its members embarked on war games long before the intercommunal strife started in late 1963. Military exercises were held and the largest one was held on the Troodos mountains, near the summer residence of Makarios. Members of this organisation were the lowest scum of society. People like Yorgatzis and Sampson, just to name a couple. The "Organisation" was funded and politically supported by the government of Cyprus and Makarios himself.

The other side had criminals too. Criminals that wanted to partition Cyprus. These people wanted an excuse in order to convince the masses of the Turkish Cypriots of the need for partition. The "Organisation" gave them all the excuses they needed. Turkish Cypriots who opposed the fanatics on their side paid dearly with their lives for the fanatics had an agenda. On both sides, they were not prepared to let anyone interfere with their dark plans.

If, my side, the Greek Cypriot side (I can only talk about my side, despite the fact that I do not like talking about sides) really, sincerely and honestly wants a solution where both communities will be politically equal, then we will take a huge step forward if we accepted our responsibilities when we placed our fate into the hands of the fanatics in the early days of the Republic. If we keep insisting that we did nothing wrong back then, I am afraid we are committing a cardinal sin because we alienate the Turkish Cypriots further and push in this way for partition, perhaps without realising it, but of course this is no excuse.

If we really want to unite our country, if we really want to save our country, we need to start a war of love, compassion and understanding with the "other" side. Contrary, by threatening, insulting and cursing we will hit bottom beyond return for we are the weak "side" and Turkish nationalism will surface once again (but this time for good) over us.

And may I be the first to offer my love to you Bananiot. It brings a tear to my eye to see that out of all the hate the "RoC" instills into its people and the lies they spread about the world, there can still be people like you that speak from the heart and understand the situation as it is. You would get my vote on both sides of the divide without hesitation. More power to you and your like.

My sincerest regards
Zan.

Why are people arguing about something that ended in 2004. It was a plan taken to a poublic vote and the majority of the voters said no to something they did not agree. End of story Please tell me something new and refreshing. I'm voting Christofias (or I can't friggin vote).
