Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Lena now we are getting somewhere.

The shocking thing is to think that it is probable that they set it upt so they could film it and use it as propaganda. I am looking into it, and if it looks that way then all the people involved ought to be behind bars.

Just 2 points:

1. When I saw the clip, it passed through my mind that it may have been a put-up job for propaganda. Many animal-rights activists have done worse than that before, including murdering humans.

2. I'm against the use of fur for decoration or style but I concede that it is essential for survival for those living in truly arctic conditions. It is ridiculous to compare leather/sheepskin clothing with decoration or style, because the skins are a by-product of meat growing; the animals are not bred or captured to satisfy a fad.

Though I am a lifelong hunter I detest trophy hunting and fur fashion. But many years ago I participated in a joint interview of a Canadian official who was from the Innuit nation. He was touring Europe to reverse the trend of the 80s and 90s against fur.

He explained that their terrain grows nothing. Their only renewable resource is animal derived. In his words : "when you stop wearing furs we starve". It was a convincing argument both for properly managed harvesting of furs and trophy hunting. And in Canada at least the management is both scientifically based and strictly enforced. I still will not kill it if I dont eat it, and furs just do not do it for me, but the gentleman did have a point. I will look through my files and find the interview.

GR

I swear, i dont wear a fur coat when I am out hunting. My dog has her own fur coat. It is red and shiny and she loves to hunt, taught me a lot. So have my cats, they really are masters of the craft!

We have been throuth the hunting bit before in the forum, no need to go into it again.
