I adore the donkeys they are the best in the world. The goats daintily scouring slopes, lizards running up walls,

I love the fact that the sea is not shark infested and I can swim out into the horizon and come back in one piece hours later!

I could eat Geroskipou dry of rose and almond loukoumia. Regular zaharoblastia stops for water and cakes.

I love the memories of buying fish from fisherman at Latchi Harbour . . . and adore the restaurants surrounding it now.

I love prickly pears growing by the sides of the road, free food! Visiting the fig tree every day for newly-ripened figs.

I love going for a peripato after dinner, the village weddings with hundreds of loose relatives, church bells, smell of incense in the church, fast-talking locals, slow talking locals, old men reclining on wooden chairs drinking coffee and observing the world, blue skies, amazing thunderstorms.

The Troodos for treks, the Akamas for secret coves and bays. The olive skinned men 8)

I have so much more to discover!!! Post as many as you like Phoenix. :D

I was mentally transposing men into women :) Yes, I'm male and no, I'm not inclined towards other males. Actually, it's rather academic now, as my very advanced years mean that the flesh is weak, even if the spirit is willing :D But I can still appreciate nubile appearances!!!

At first I thought the medical care needed care then I found myself in a life threating situation ahd who saved my life?(gues)So I can't complain about the medical care. The panelbeaters are reasnobly priced so again no problem.I can shop for 2 people for 200 pounds a month(luxuriously) again no problem. Eighteen years later and I'm still HAPPY.So anybody wiyh a complaint, tickets aren;t that expensive.

Miltiades, when are you next in Cyprus?

A little story of a true Cypriot:

While driving back from Larnaca to Paphos one day, we decided to stop at a half way cafe (klhirokitia) for a coffee. As it was a little windy but we still wanted to sit outdoors we chose a corner table next to a wall. The next table was an old man having his fasoullia (beans) for lunch. As he happened to be facing away from us looking to the other direction, he immediately stood up and moved the table setting to another side and proceeded eating. My wife looked at me in a strange manner wondering what he was doing. I told her he was a 'true Cypriot' and didn't want to face his back at us. I wonder where else in the world this kind of human behaviour still exists.
