During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, the Ottoman authorities feared that Greek Cypriots would rebel again. Archbishop Kyprianos, a powerful leader who worked to improve the education of Greek Cypriot children, was accused of plotting against the government. Kyprianos, his bishops, and hundreds of priests and important laymen were arrested and summarily hanged or decapitated on July 9, 1821.

So don't play with me the "who started it first" game, because you know you will lose in that also.
As far as ethnic cleansing goes, we have never done such thing against you. In the inter communal conflict you killed as much of our as we killed of yours, a few 100s on each side. Or yours worth more than ours maybe?
On the other hand, your leader Kucuk was proposing partition(= ethnic cleansing of 100s of thousands of GCs) since the 50s, and you continued with that plan until 1974 when you implemented it to the letter.

I said it before, I will say it again: The Turks are full of cheap excuses that are worthless, as the UN resolution the day of the invasion shows. The Turks could not and can not be excused for their illegal invasion and occupation of Cyprus.
