To those of you who may be interested in a little mathematics, imagine this:- A queue of 20,000,000 soldiers, (representative of the population of New York), about to receive their pay cheque (Old British Army Style).
Each soldier takes five paces forward, salutes, snaps out left hand, accepts pay, salutes turns and withdraws.
Time taken = 15 seconds, Next, Next, Next and so on for 8 hours per day.
It would take almost THIRTY YEARS to pay them all.
If each of those soldiers were to receive the sum of $23,250 (Twenty three thousand two hundred and fifty) dollars, that would be a fair representation of what the American Government has spent (Thus Far) on their assault on Iraq.
It's a bit mind boggling, I do find it quite interesting since we are generally unable to imagine the significance of large figures unless we apply them to something we can visualize.
OR, how about $7,750 (seven thousand seven hundred and fifty) dollars, to each of the 60,000,000 of the U.K. (NINETY YEARS) on pay parade.
OR, $1,150 (One thousand five hundred and fifty)dollars, to each of the 300,000,000 of the U.S.A. (FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS) on pay parade.
OR, $66 (Sixty Six) dollars for every man woman and child on the face of the earth, no point in making a pay parade of that lot, the poor sods at the end of the queue would never make it.
All joking to one side, isn't it disgusting ?, with that sort of money I could come up with a much simpler plan to ensure peace on earth, spend the money on Zivania, 10 bottles to each person on earth, that way the entire world could get rat-arsed and nobody would feel like fighting. (except miltiades).
