Tickets to Cyprus

Postby Sega » Thu Nov 01, 2007 5:43 pm

My parents live in the North West of England and they would like to come over. Previously we had no problem getting cheap tickets to fly over. However, recently Cyprus has joined the EU meaning that Cypriot students have flooded into UK universities. Might be good for UK economy but the downside is that we cannot find any cheap tickets. My parents and 2 brothers are looking to come over around Christmas time.

I know how it is, same problem here with house prices.

If they had booked at the start of the year ~ Jan or Feb ~ they would have got some cheap deals :D .

Trying to get a flight at this late stage only leaves you wide open to being screwed by the airlines as they know there are so many wanting to travel at this time they can charge what they want  .

You have missed the cheapies ~~ but at least you will know for next year ~~~ won't you

Yes I would do. But they have to come over!!! It's not a choice. They are willing to pay up to £220. But they cannot find anything on those sorts of prices. It kinda sucks. Is there another choice?

swimming? Just kidding

Christmas holidays, summer holidays and general all the holidays prices in flights and generally in everything goes up...they call them season prices...and is usually expensive....there are two options either stay where they are or pay more and go to Cyprus. :( none of them sounds good but I wish to you to find something better!

Sega, 'Longshot', if your folks are anywhere near (relatively) the airport, make themselves available and check for any last minute cancellations, you might be lucky, good luck anyway.

If NW of England is Hull area that is where my brother lives and we often fly into Manchester, Leeds or Humberside. Eurocypria fly into Humberside but tend to only over the summer months. The last flight was actually yesterday when my mum returned. You can fly into Humberside via Amsterdam with Cyprus Airways/KLM. The price of the tickets have always been around CYP250. Eurocypria though was only CYP 80.
