Cyprus should be kicked out of EU.

Cyprus should be kicked out of EU.

Cyprus behavior towards EU regulations etc is unacceptable.
Free Movement of Goods, Immigration Control, Fishing, Competition and the list goes on...

Cyprus is not civilized enough to be a part of EU, aswell as other 12 new member states. EU should remain 15 state union with special ties to other European nations such as special economical zones, fewer trade restrictions etc but thats it.

It looks like "get rich fast" phenomena is also existing in government :)
Everything is evaluated on short term turnover basis...

Ray, I think one of the principles of the EU is that it improves the standards of "lesser" States. A few large fines should encourage the government to pull its finger out.

If there are five reasons Cyprus to move out of EU , there are 1milion reasons UK to get out of EU.The most important one is this country's negative policies against promotion of EU ideas during the last 15 years.

Cyprus has every right to be in the EU . . . and the EU is richer for having Cyprus.

It's strategic location is second to none, its people hard working and participate in all arenas of world events.

Cyprus for its size, is the EU's biggest asset!

Your personal gripes are just that . . . and you have not substantiated any aspersions or compared them to performances against all other nations, in particular at the early stages of entry.

That should be the least you compare, before formulating a valid point.

Good luck! :D

Ray .i agree with the issues you list ..there is so much corruption and negativity ..but the E.U will resolve these issues ...

dont worry plans are a foot to bring E.U enforcers here very soon to inspect and enforce laws ...fines etc will be the beginning ...dept lockdowns and humilations of officials ....

be patient ... us Brits and other E.U state members ,peoples from other larger countries must remember that cyprus and its people are very small minded ,taught to be arrogant ,greedy and narrow minded ...very little planning goes into anything ...MOTORWAY CCTV ,ASBOS ,ALL THESE THINGS ARE COMING

be patient ...sit back and watch me in the next 18 months ...i will let you know ...when the bombs drop so you can crack open a beer ..

it will start with the car import duties ....thats a Clue (my favourite part is when the government officials will be forced to interview for their own jobs )

raymanuva I think you say this because you think other EU countries are perfect. EU != Perfection ;) Cyprus just joined and we need to give it some time. It will improve if EU from above and citizens from below press for changes.

You're as ENglish as a 3-legged Albanian mate, so cut the "I'm from a western superpower crap" and pay attention to your own countrymen. You wanna pretend you're something else then you might as well go and live there as well.

Being part of Europe will be the best thing that ever happened to Cyprus! All the dogdy practices will be weeded out over the next 5 years or so - bring it on!
