Has anyone understood anything from all these arguments?

Postby umit07 » Wed Oct 31, 2007 10:57 pm

First of all I would like to say, Hi to everyone.

I am new to this forum and having spent a few days's just roaming around in all different threads, I was sometimes confused, amused but mostly disturbed by the long inconclusive arguments which just went on and on. Has anyone actually learnt anything from all this?
Everyone just seems to have view of opinion which they try to implement on one another. I ask everyone to put themselves in there conterparts place before, expressing their views.

Welcome Umit07. The few months I have been on this forum, I have learnt to be patient. Not many people are capable of 'wearing the others' shoes' or seeing the counterpoints point of view. It would help. With fresh blood on the forum, maybe things will change. Good luck

Regards

Welcome also Umit07.

Bear in mind you'll need more than few days on this forum to identify some of the more frequent posters and get to know their their views (some even like to post under different names - most confusing !).

And to answer your question, there is a hell of an effort by some posters to 'educate the other side' but no-one is learning anything....imho :(

Anyway, enjoy your stay.

Are you talking about the "General Chat" threads? .... yeah, they are bloody weird.

People talking about satellite TV, IT, schools, perverts, jokes . . . I do not understand any of it.

Now if you care to join the Cyprus Problem threads . . . Man are they exciting and boy do they all listen to each other!

umit07. Welcome to the forum and good luck with your postings.

I think you have made an excellent point with your first contribution, perhaps we should form a 'Committee'.

THAT should sort 'em out !.

If I were to make a conclusion after all this time in the "Cyprob crazy zone" , I would say that if the general opinions of the public on both sides of the coin are as they are here then we is all fuc*ked. I can say that the majority of GC's who I know personally don't have the same views as many of the hardliners on this forum.

WHat do you think?
