Poems From Mevlana Rumi
http://www.mevlana.ws/modules.php?name= ... le&artid=2

Drink all your passion,
and be a disgrace.

Close both eyes
to see with the other eye.

Open your hands,
if you want to be held.

Sit down in this circle.
-------------------------------------------

"Since I was cut from the reedbed,
I have made this crying sound.

Anyone apart from someone he loves
understands what I say.

Anyone pulled from a source
longs to go back.

At any gathering I am there,
mingling in the laughing and grieving,

a friend to each, but few
will hear the secrets hidden

within the notes. No ears for that.
Body flowing out of spirit,

spirit up from body: no concealing
that mixing. But it's not given us
to see the soul. The reed flute
is fire, not wind. Be that empty."
---------------------------------------------------

If you haven't left child's play,
how can you be an adult?
Without purity of spirit,
if you are still in the middle of lust and greed
and other wantings, you're like children
playing at sexual intercourse.
They wrestle
and rub together, but it's not sex!

The same with the fightings of mankind.
It's a squabble with play-swords.
No purpose, totally futile.

Deniz . . . I am not Human JUST because I show appreciation of Turkish culture.

I am Human because I ALSO care for the suffering inflicted by the Turks on my compatriots. :(

And as a Human I put into words my feelings on this and every matter. :D

Perhaps we would have more time and be in the right frame of mind to appreciate man's achievements, if the bigger Nations respected the rights of the smaller Nations.
And in particular, since we are on the subject, may I remind Turkey to remove its 43,000 soldiers and numerous settlers from Cyprus and allow the 200,000 Cypriots to return to their rightful homes.

Thank you.

for me rumi is very special, if it wasn't for him i would not have written and published my book, i was going through a rough time some years ago, and by chance came across some of his work..... i was hooked, his words spoke to me and it was like a door had been opened, and i was now able to see my surroundings with new eyes.

i would love to go to Turkey and visit Konia, which i believe is where he now rests, and a museum dedicated to him?

I agree  I will pop along and ask uncle sam.

And while on the subject, TCs have feelings as well.

Its so hard finding your 'G' (good) spot. But give us a chance and we will find it..........eventually.

Not Christian or Jew or Muslim, not Hindu,
Buddhist, sufi, or zen. Not any religion

or cultural system. I am not from the East
or the West, not out of the ocean or up

from the ground, not natural or ethereal, not
composed of elements at all. I do not exist,

am not an entity in this world or the next,
did not descend from Adam and Eve or any

origin story. My place is placeless, a trace
of the traceless. Neither body or soul.

I belong to the beloved, have seen the two
worlds as one and that one call to and know,

first, last, outer, inner, only that
breath breathing human being.

Have I ever tried to silence any TCs?. . . or victimized any in particular ? . . .

NO Deniz! . . . So why should their "feelings" be hurt? :?

I do not have a problem with people speaking their minds . . I am quite happy to come along and correct what they say if I do not agree with it. Why should anyone's feelings be hurt by that? Unless I have struck a raw nerve in which case CORRECT the problem! :D

I don't prejudge people as good or bad just by what they say in an isolated incident in time, and especially mid-debate when they may be going with a flow . . . . I pick on what they say.

So no ones feelings should be hurt by what I say . . . feel free to offer me your side. :)

And BTW I don't think you can get away with claiming "Uncle Sam" is preventing Turkey removing its 43,000 soldiers from Cyprus!
That would be justified HOW? That it's then OK for Turkey to BUY its way into US affections by DESTROYING my country?

Far from it Phoenix. I am not one of those who would lay the blame on uncle sam. That was said tongue-in-cheek. Its mainly the GCs who make that claim.

My claim is that.................oops, wrong topic. Search my previous posts.
