Someone to speak greek with

Postby symbol » Tue Oct 30, 2007 2:01 pm

I am learning greek and I am looking for a companion who is learning greek to practise speaking.
I am bit hesitant to talk to the locals here because my greek is not very good and I will make mistakes.

Don't let that put you off from trying Symbol. My wife and I are also learning, and try to use what we've learned when we're out and about. In our experience, the locals appreciate if you are making an effort, even if you do make some understandable blunders!

Learned Greek for 6 loooooooooooooong years at Greek school. Bored myself to tears but I am so glad that I learned. The secret of success listening to the Greek music getting the lyrics from the net and practicing or watching TV especially movies.

However I still make mistakes and still being correct. Well c'est la vie.

truthfully symbol, it will be alot better for you to learn greek from a native greek speaker, that way you won't pick up on any misuse of the language.
