You must enable “Advanced controls” for this to come up so do this…

Double LEFT-Click on your volume slide bar (right-most speaker icon on the task bar) and then select OPTIONS > ADVANCED CONTROLS from the Volume Control’s pull down menu.

Now carry on with what I initially instructed you to…

Start > Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices > Audio >
Sound Recording [Volume] > Capture > Stereo Mix [Select]

NB: This works in XP/SP2

It is a lie that this is for some project, it is me, cuz i need to record..from the net

I was going to say. Either that or BSc CS degrees at Uni have got a hell of a lot easier since I did mine...

Try to update the driver to your sound card maybe that will make a change.
Let's see what happens after that.

Ouch,

SigmaTel Audio... apparently is a very crappy onboard sound card...
You can find a solution on DELL Community forum.

It’s amazing how many people studying IT should not… I’m sure they like computers and that but they just don’t seem to get that they don’t get them! :lol:

ooh, and regarding that question, i wasnt trying to be rude...is just i've investigated that issue for 5 minutes and it seemed that dozens of people having a rant on different forums regarding this card. Most of them have Dell Laptops...
So this problem is hardware related and i will take all my nasty comments back if you fix it within next 24 hours and provide us with screenshots.
