I am sorry but unless you live here you cannot really understand what I am talking about. Your friends are most likely confined within family environments and you probably see them within a short space of time and then you go back. Within those weeks it is likely that they putting on a face. I use to come on holiday to Cyprus, but when you actually live here people personalities and characters change and then you notice things you never noticed before.

I'm afraid it's you who doesn't understand. I may not live in Cyprus but I live in Greece which is quite similar to Cyprus, as opposed to the UK where you used to live. I repeat, it's your friends that are "perverted", not Cyprus. I've met people who frequent in "Kambaredes" in Cyprus, they had no intention of hiding their "nature", in fact they were proud of it. But I chose not to be friends with them, which is exactly what you should do if you find their behaviour offensive

Niki, unlike most European countries where a man who wants a bit on the side (for whatsoever reason) can go to a pub or a club and pick up a woman for a one night stand, in Cyprus that is not possible (specially with the local women), so that's the reason for so many Gentleman's clubs.

When I say "perverted" I mean the kind that just CANNOT stop talking/thinking about sex and theres SOOOO MANY of them in Cyprus!!!

Sex is not just for reproduction...compare the amount of times you've used it to reproduce with the amount of times you used it in a "social" manner!!!!!

I'm gay myself but I've been in some VERY uncomfortable situations in the distant past with Cypriots, some were just too distant to be considered normal!!!

Cypriot men can help their own situation. If it's the Cypriot men who are causing the problem by keeping their daughters in the house while hypocritically perving at other women maybe they should be more relaxed about letting the daughters out more therefore easing the desperation?
