HOW TO EXCHANGE RHD WITH LHD CARS IN CYPRUS

Postby froggy » Sun Oct 28, 2007 8:17 pm

Hi to everybody! And sorry I'm putting you in trouble with my question. I'm looking for anyone knows to inform me about how to exchange my 2 right hand drive cars polo 1600cc and vectra 2000cc with a left hand drive automatic 1600cc and over as I plan to move in Greece.
Thanks!

I can't understand why you want to "exchange them" as you state .

Just sell them and buy something when you get over to Greece.

You have three options ~~ advertise them in a local paper / supermarket ~~ stick them on a street corner with your details in the window or sell them to a dealer -- although you can bet the Cypriot dealer will give you pea nuts / rock bottom price for them and then sell them on at a huge profit as all car dealers all over the world do.

It's not exactly rocket science getting rid of a car but getting a buyer to give you what you want for them could be a problem as there are lots of second hand cars for sale littering the street corners everywhere

Second hand cars in Cyprus are ridiculously overpriced, if the situation in Greece is more sensible you could probabably sell your cars over here and go to Greece and buy newer better cars for the same money.

froggy, welcome to the forum and good luck with your postings.

As to your problem, no problem, take your cars to Greece and drive everywhere in reverse, SORTED !.

Thank you all guys for your advices. :P Of course before I post my question I had tried all the above methods. :( Eliko's advice is my last option before I move as the cars are very reliable until now.
The point is if someone knows any trader or neighbour who had a left-hand drive car 1400cc to 1800cc automatic for some reason and would like to negotiate if he has not a reason to keep it anymore. It could be possible also if the car is already in Greece as some students have during their studies.
Come on guys do your best!!Surely there is somewhere an answer.
Thank you in advance again all.
