TEFL Jobs in Kyrenia/Girne, TRNC/KKTC

Postby mem101 » Sun Oct 28, 2007 6:22 pm

Does anybody know if there is any kind of demand for English teachers in Northern Cyprus, particularly in and around the Girne/Kyrenia area? If so do you know any websites or schools or places that I could get in touch with? Thanks in advance for any help.

Just give them a call, I don't know if the need teachers. I have done my research, I found the following schools, http://www.sunnylaneschool.net/ and also the "English Language School", which can be contacted on 855 3853. Hope this helps. There are far more job opportunies in Southern Cyprus, but I am sure there is a reason you picked Northern Cyprus. Hope it all works out.

For your information that part of the country is under illegal occupation by over 40,000 Turkish soldiers . . . and if you want to work in Kyrenia I suggest you wait until the Turks leave and then you will not be damaging your C.V. by having worked in an illegally occupied part of Europe.

I am well aware of the status quo. I am a Turkish Cypriot. I did not start this thread to begin a debate though. There are other parts of the forum for that. I just wanted help from anybody who is willing and able.

Thanks for the pointers Sega.

Being Turkish Cypriot does not exempt you and make you innocent of the crime of working in an illegally occupied part of any country.

BTW As soon as you post a thread in a public forum you had better prepare yourself for differences of opinion to be expressed . . . otherwise find some other more suitably clandestine way of conducting your illegal job search.

I did not express any opinions. I simply asked for help. I will not allow myself to be dragged into a debate about this. I won't be replying to any more of your posts on this thread.
