Hi there

I have been trying to make an order from Pixmania.com.cy without much luck. I have put everything i want in the shopping basket but before i can pay for it i have to set up an account and of course it wont except english chracters on the form so im stuck.
Ive had the English site open as well to get this far which i have an account with but it wont work for Cyprus. I know a lot of you on here use Pixmania as this is where i learnt about the site so is there anyway around this or do i need a greek friend to do it for me?

Thanks

You cannot order from the English site. Even though everything really comes from France and I'm betting every site has the same back end server, you just cannot do it.

I emailed them ages ago and they said use the Cyprus site. Even though in Greek.

So I did. Firefox translaters can help, but also mess up the payment stage. Nice. The main thing to remember is that the UK site and the Cypriot site almost match completely. So if you have both open at once then follow it through on both. Should be fairly obvious, but a bit nervewracking when you are confirming hundreds of pounds worth of order and don't understand a word (there is obviously a limit of how far you go on the english site).

Anyways, another word of warning is that one of my orders somehow got confused between the english and cypriot orders, so I ended up with an order to my old UK address. Best thing I have found is to make sure both sessions are open in different windows (not tabs). Even better is to use one in Firefox and the other in IE. Then you can be sure that they aren't going to get their knickers in a twist.

But if you do all that then it does work. I've ordered a couple of items from them since being here and they all arrived within a week (in stock when ordered).

Email though complaining about the lack of English for ordering to Cyprus. I mean if enough people complain they may do something about it. Considering it all comes from the same place with the same back end system by the looks of things, then they are just being lazy.

Cheers

My problem is i cant register an account. The form needs to be filled in with Greek characters or it gives an error. There is a phone number so I'm going to try that tomorrow, apparently you can order over the phone, I'm just hoping that they can speak English

Cheers

Why not set up so that you can use a Greek character set?

Control Panel,
Regional Language options,
Languages,
Details,
Add
Drop down to Greek
OK

Then you can switch between English and Greek by togelling the EN or EL at the bottom right of the screen.

Like this αβψδ ΑΒΨΔ

Hope this helps

Ah. I just used my old English one then updated with my new address in Cyprus. Also signifies same base behind the scenes.

So just sign up on the UK site and should be fine on Cyprus site. If insists on UK address then bung one in and amend to Cyprus address. It allowed me to do that on mine.

Are you sure the error is because you are using Latin characters? When I registered about a year ago I used Latin characters for my name address and everything else and it accepted it just fine. Maybe the error is because of something else?

Well i never thought to try my login information from the UK site on the Cypriot site as i thought it was different but it worked. Once logged in to the Cypriot site you can change your address to a Cyprus address which you cant do when logged in to the UK site, much messing around but you can get there in the end. So i have made an order and will be very nervous now until it arrives, my first time mail order in Cyprus.

Thank you all for your help
