Christianabub, when you say "get-sorted", what does this mean? Live in Cyprus indefinatly? Do you have any qualifications? If so can you please state them.

Sorry I don't mean to be negative. It's just that in Cyprus qualifications kind of count.

What about College or University? Did you not go? Do you have any experience in Travel or Tourism, if so what kind of things did you do?

O-Levels, this means that your probably 30+ in age if my calculations are correct.

When you say 'be independant', does this mean you can 100% fund for yourself? Do you hope to be able to achieve this in Cyprus?

I am going to try and help you as much as I can in terms of advise I give, it will be as honest as possible. This might help you understand the situation. Save up around 1k if you can, live at home with your parents (this means do not pay bills) and see how long it will take for that 1k to be spent (approx. 2 1/2 months), just make sure you buy an open-ticket so you can get back if things do not work for you.

During this time try your v.best to find a job. I suggest going to the Hotels (all of them) and giving them a CV, or you could send it via email. There are many bars and cafes in Kato Paphos, so send them all CV. It would be best to have a Cyprus mobile so they could get in-touch we you in the event of a job interview. So get your mobile unlocked if it is not already so.

Pay here is slightly less that England (slightly is kind of an understatement), but jobs payment vary from employer to employer and there can be a large difference.

Getting things done here is slightly different as well. Coming here for a holiday and living here are 2 different things, remember that. But give it a try, you might like it or then again you might not.

The legal age is 18. However Cyprus is not much for obeying the law, you will soon realise this when you come and stay for a while. I am from the East of Cyprus, I prefer to keep the exact location private. Sorry.
