Wrong, Turkish Cypriots can never, ever be promoted higher than the rank of Major. Up until about 15 years ago they could only become Captains but there was an outcry from TC students attending the Military Academy in Turkey that this was unfair as they studied to the same level as Turkish citizens.

So the General you had a drink with was either mainland Turk or he was a TC with a lesser rank.

man you make me laugh ...tell you what illl maybe post a picture ... the fact is i spoke to them and they too want peace but on their terms .

i agreed with them .i agreed with them ,i want peace on my terms ,so like i said no agreement can be made to suit both parties ,..nice guys ,well trained and eager to train their entire military as one

Oranos, I'm not saying you did not drink with these guys, why shouldn't you be able to drink and socialise with them. They are after all human.

I merely pointed out some facts regarding the military system we have in the TRNC. A TC, regardless of how long he serves in the army can never reach the rank of general, its not allowed by some strange Turkish military law.
