The EU Commission has launched a program called ‘The Cypriot Civil Society in Action’.
The Commission’s program aims to strengthen the Turkish Cypriot civil society organizations as well as to promote trust, cooperation and dialogue between the two communities in Cyprus.
The program also aims at creating an environment on the island which will promote steps to be taken for the solution of the Cyprus problem.
‘The Cypriot Civil Society in Action’ Programme primarily aims to provide support to partnership projects in Cyprus which will promote bi-communal relations.
Supporting both local and international non-governmental organizations which promote reconciliation is also among the primary objectives of the EU Commission programme.
The Program includes a fund project which envisages the establishment of further cooperation among the NGOs based in Cyprus.
An information session on the project which is open to proposals in various fields including culture, economic development, social inclusion, social dialogue and academics will be on the 13th November at the Saray Hotel in Lefkosa at 6 pm.
