Apparently Easyjet have just bougfht GB-Airways which runs the BA flights to Paphos.

Deal will effect all flights from 28th March 2008.

Yep it looks like what your saying is accurate. The information I have on the matter is that flights will be going to Paphos from London Gatwick and will be traveling under the EasyJet name.

I though Stelios would never fly to Cyprus because he is said to owe the government so much money

Easyjet never use to fly to Cyprus from Manchester, and I don't think it will. However Cyprus Airways and British Airways do.

GB airways (subsidary of BA) are still taking bookings to Paphos throughout next year from Manchester

So I suppose if Easy Jet buy them out then they'll be taking over that route

The position is this. BA only fly to Cyprus by using a franchise - which is GB Airways. This has been sold for £ 100m to Easyjet. The normal reason is to effectively buy the slots not the profits. Therefore, the Manchester - Paphos route will effectively be operated by Easyjet. However low cost airlines don't like these routes as it doesn't fit with their pilot rotas as a whole as they normally invollve stopovers which makes it a dearer route to fly. The Man - Paphos route isn't operated with a stopover, that's why I'm wondering if anybody can shed any light on it ?

BG Airways/British Airways flights to Paphos will continue as normal till 29 March. After that you are directed to "wait to hear from EasyJet". Any request for information from them about flights after 30 March 2008 are being ignored/not answered.

Rumour has it that some flights may be 'combined' - in other words, expect same aircraft with more seats and people and less legroom. And better start packing the sandwiches!!

I thought Stelios sold off his share in Easy jet some while ago :?

Personally I usually use Cyprus Airways or BA and can truthfully say I've never used his sandwich service
