Could you tell her that the only officials at the checkpoint are TCs and she will be lucky to see a Turkish soldier.

Before the vote on the Annan plan, I personally believed the Turkish Cypriots were faced with a historic opportunity and did everything I could to ensure that the plan was a success. I believed that, with the plan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) would be able to stand on its own two feet. The KKTC would enter the European Union with Greek Cyprus and consequently, the Cyprus issue would no longer be an obstacle to Turkey's EU aspirations. I am still of the same opinion.
Mehmet Ali Birand
Enough said.
Maybe VP and Bananiot think that we are idiots and we would not only vote for them to officially Turkify the north part of our country, but also for them to gain EU accession, gain money, and remove the Cyprus obstacle from the Turkish EU accession, all in one go.
With our vote in a referendum we showed them that the Annan partition+ plan was indeed too good for them to be true.
We have been victimized many times in the past by the Turks, but no more. This time we will fight until we gain our lands, our rights and everything that belongs to us and has been taken by force by the invading Turks.
Good luck, but imho you havent got a chance in hell.

But why?
You GC stopped the dissolving of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, so you made him the happiest man in the world probably the first time GCs have agreed with Mr Denktaş. Must make you feel warm inside.
So you are happy with the way things are now?
In heinsight maybe he was correct and you people prove him right over and over again, he claims that we cannot agree a solution with GCs because they (GCs) do not want one, we are best going our own way as the TRNC. I didnt agree with him prior to the AP but I do now, he is a very wise man. He is very greateful for your support.
But you have nothing but a Turkish Military Base, recognised only by Turkey as its "TRNC" . . . nothing else, no recognition, nothing, limbo-ville! . . . oh and some Turkish settlers!
Thank your concern you have obviously not been to the TRNC and anyway whatever is here is my problem not yours so why are you harping on about it.
But VP I do care if you have a problem . . . you know a problem shared is a problem halved!
Now tell Auntie Phoenix what those nasty 40,000 Turkish Troops are doing to you to cause you these problems?
It must be difficult to get word out as to what is really going on (I know what those Turks are like about silencing people) so I will take the above subtle confession as a cry for help, if you can't tell me any more
VP we will do everything in our power to get rid of those Turkish Troops for you and re-unify Cyprus . . .
THAT'S A PROMISE!
Interesting terminology there my dear - what do you mean 'either?phoenix wrote:StuartN wrote:phoenix wrote:pantheman wrote:phoenix wrote:Viewpoint wrote:Denktaş Senior quote "Thank God the Greek Cypriots Voted NO"
But why?
The reason he was happy was because he allocated himself about 30,000 donums of land and stood to lose the lot if there was a solution based on the annan plan.
Simple really. Its all about money.
Finally and answer that makes sense!
Does he still have the land or has he sold it to StuartN or one of his type?
I don't buy land my dear - I study it... thats what geologists do. Always happy to help!
That's OK, sounds like Denktash didn't buy his either!
phoenix wrote:StuartN wrote:Phoenix (or whatever you call yourself) - have you ever been to the TRNC?
What "TRNC" ? I suppose you mean the Turkish Occupied North of Cyprus
We used to holiday in Kyrenia when I was very young, that's now under Turkish occupation did you know StuartN?
The whole of the North of Cyprus has been ethnically cleansed (in the first case of its kind since WW II) by Turkey and they have replaced the GCs with settlers that they did not want in their own country.
Isn't that shocking! I hope that sort of thing never happens to the UK!
phoenix wrote:iceman wrote:phoenix wrote:Who gave you permission to visit part of my country that I cannot?
Sure you can visit.....just bring some sort of identification with you
And show my i.d. to whom, some backward Turkish soldier or some hired "settler"?
Are you happy to do that iceman?

Elementary, dear StuartN. No confusion on my part.
You said you didn't buy land and it sounds like Denktash didn't buy the land either!
Comprende?
