But why?
The reason he was happy was because he allocated himself about 30,000 donums of land and stood to lose the lot if there was a solution based on the annan plan.
Simple really. Its all about money.

Finally and answer that makes sense!
Does he still have the land or has he sold it to StuartN or one of his type?

What "TRNC" ? I suppose you mean the Turkish Occupied North of Cyprus
We used to holiday in Kyrenia when I was very young, that's now under Turkish occupation did you know StuartN?
The whole of the North of Cyprus has been ethnically cleansed (in the first case of its kind since WW II) by Turkey and they have replaced the GCs with settlers that they did not want in their own country.
Isn't that shocking! I hope that sort of thing never happens to the UK!
I'm well aquainted with Kyrenia Phoenix - you mean all those people are really soldiers and settlers??? - goodness - I'm shocked. .
You'd best get back to making sure everybody is aware Phoenix.... and probably best that you stay away yourself eh? .....
Since when do you get to tell me to stay away from my own country?
Who gave you permission to visit part of my country that I cannot?
There's nothing stopping you Phoenix (I visit quite often and certainly don't need permission from anybody) - honestly, but if the thought of visiting really frightens you that much, I'd suggest you get one of the big boys to go with you.... all those settlers and the heavily armed military chaps on every street corner can be quite intimidating.
I'm only thinking of your poor sensibilities my dear.
Oh Dear. I wonder what it must be like living in the Phoenix house hold...They must sit about telling each other bullshit stories about how they cannot visit the TRNC/KKTC. When did those crossings open? New Lady bird books are on sale at Ledra Palace book shop for the mentally restricted....

I shouldn't need a"crossing" to travel through my own country Zan.
Are you happy that's what you've reduced Cyprus to?
Maybe its the guilt gnawing at your little brain that's causing all your little problems!

Before the vote on the Annan plan, I personally believed the Turkish Cypriots were faced with a historic opportunity and did everything I could to ensure that the plan was a success. I believed that, with the plan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) would be able to stand on its own two feet. The KKTC would enter the European Union with Greek Cyprus and consequently, the Cyprus issue would no longer be an obstacle to Turkey's EU aspirations. I am still of the same opinion.
Mehmet Ali Birand
Enough said.
Maybe VP and Bananiot think that we are idiots and we would not only vote for them to officially Turkify the north part of our country, but also for them to gain EU accession, gain money, and remove the Cyprus obstacle from the Turkish EU accession, all in one go.
With our vote in a referendum we showed them that the Annan partition+ plan was indeed too good for them to be true.
We have been victimized many times in the past by the Turks, but no more. This time we will fight until we gain our lands, our rights and everything that belongs to us and has been taken by force by the invading Turks.
