PeterC,

yes on two floors, 296m2 divided by 2 = 148m2.

plot size 150m2, do i see a swimming pool? and what about the 3m boundary need between adjacent properties rule.

theres is a misprint somewhere wouldn't you say?

PeterC, with so many properties available for purchase, I cannot understand the necessity to arrange sales through the process of auction, I would be very wary of buying from such a source, there are far too many pitfalls and too many bogus bidders at such events,

If you do feel inclined to attend a property auction, make sure you are at the back of the room, that way you will be able to suss out the 'Jackers', you will probably be standing next to a few.

Go first as an observer, better still, go not at all mate.

Eliko that is good advice. :D

For years I was addicted to auctions and suffered from "auction fever". It used to be a challenge to acquire a certain item, especially if somebody else was looking too keen to snap it up also! . . . . not that I am at all competitive . . .

I've ended up paying over the odds for a lot of rubbish

phoenix, though I flush to admit it, I made a considerable amount of money at auctions disposing of ex-military vehicles, the general method was to entice the unwary bidder by making bogus bids on vehicles which had been previously purchased at far lower prices elsewhere.

Nice work if you can get it, fortunately I 'Saw the light' before it became the prime object of my existence and I was able to direct my business acumen elsewhere.

Such was my misspent youth, ( I wouldn't change a minute of it !)

 Well I would never have imagined you had done anything wrong in your whole life Eliko . . . but I am glad you have found a better calling (I assume :? ).

Since you mention military vehicles . . . do you happen to know how one would go about buying an old ex-army jeep in Cyprus ? My son really wants me to get one when we are over . . . just for fun! :D

phoenix, as I understand it, there are auctions (If we are allowed to mention them again) held quite regularly in Akrotiri (or thereabouts), I am not able to be more specific, perhaps 'oranas64' might be better placed to advise you, or some other member.

I will make some enquiries on your behalf and, as they say quite often in Cyprus, "I will let you know"

As to my wrongdoings, whereas I may appear to be quite a placid chap, let me assure you that there are times when I can be quite a ferocious bastard (when needs must)

Don't forget about title deeds. Who in their right mind would pay hundreds of thousands of pounds for a property without title to the land.

If I remember correctly, in the other auctions those properties with title deeds did get sold.

Thousands have already been duped out of their title deeds, indeed it was the subject of a Channel 4 programme in the UK last week.

If you still want to buy without title deeds I would definately want something like 20 thousand off the price.

This is all completely wrong!

Peter, the covered area can only be bigger than the plot if the build density is greater than 100% - and it isn’t there – I know the development quite well.

Also, I'm not aware that the asking price for similar properties in thedevelopment are 300k

Also, the property is either for auction or it is not – I’m extremely suspicious of an auction where you can ‘make them an offer’ before the event. You might end up turning up for the auction only to find it has been sold already…

Oh I forgot – the development doesn’t allow satellite dishes or solar panels on the (flat) roofs… you therefore have to heat your water – even in the middle of summer – with electricity. :?
