Turkish Cypriot 1963…69 cries of “wolf” CANNOT be serious!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Piratis » Wed Oct 24, 2007 5:58 pm

And you are made of the soil of Cyprus:lol: According to you, you came to Cyprus 10,000 years ago...What did you do with the original Cypriots murderer!

It is understandable for you not to understand how Greeks came to Cyprus, since for you it is just about invading and stealing the land of others. You never learned about creating new cities, and creating civilization.

Greeks came to Cyprus in a perfectly peaceful way, and slowly slowly the mixed with Cypriots. Greeks + Cypriots = Greek Cypriots.

But how about you? Those Ottoman soldiers are your ancestors and according to your theories you didn't mix or integrate with us. So you remained just Turks.

First Greeks in Cyprus:

After 1400 B.C., Mycenaean and Mycenaean-Achaean traders from the northeastern Peloponnesus began regular commercial visits to the island. Settlers from the same areas arrived in large numbers toward the end of the Trojan War (traditionally dated about 1184 B.C.). Even in modern times, a strip of the northern coast was known as the Achaean Coast in commemoration of those early settlers. The newcomers spread the use of their spoken language and introduced a script that greatly facilitated commerce. They also introduced the potter's wheel and began producing pottery that eventually was carried by traders to many mainland markets. By the end of the second millennium B.C., a distinctive culture had developed on Cyprus. The island's culture was tempered and enriched by its position as a crossroads for the commerce of three continents, but in essence it was distinctively Hellenic.

First Turks in Cyprus:

Throughout the period of Venetian rule, Ottoman Turks raided and attacked at will. In 1489, the first year of Venetian control, Turks attacked the Karpas Peninsula, pillaging and taking captives to be sold into slavery. In 1539 the Turkish fleet attacked and destroyed Limassol. Fearing the ever-expanding Ottoman Empire, the Venetians had fortified Famagusta, Nicosia, and Kyrenia, but most other cities were easy prey.

In the summer of 1570, the Turks struck again, but this time with a full-scale invasion rather than a raid. About 60,000 troops, including cavalry and artillery, under the command of Lala Mustafa Pasha landed unopposed near Limassol on July 2, 1570, and laid siege to Nicosia. In an orgy of victory on the day that the city fell--September 9, 1570--20,000 Nicosians were put to death, and every church, public building, and palace was looted.

Thats not what you keep saying...You say that if we don't like it then we should go back to Turkey...I am not from Turkey but from Cyprus and as any other Cypriot I am entitled to fight for my rights that you as a majority want to take away from me....Go back to the Zurich agreement if you want democracy because that is the only time it existed on the island and you destroyed it. Now you claim you know what democracy is...Don't make me laugh government stool pigeon.

Democracy means one person one vote. And you can have all your rights as long as you allow us to have ours. Will you? You are the one who insists on illegality not me.

The occupation of my Country and the forcing of my epopel into 3% of the island was illegal. The murdering and starving of my people was illegal. The taking away of my rights was illegal and that is why an illegal plan was drawn up to get around that illegality. The correct route would have been to vote and accept the verdict according to the constitution that you now claim is the way to behave and now you tell me I am illegal.....What a load of crap......All those things that happened before the Zurich agreement was the law of the land of the ruling powers and nothing to do with Turkish Cypriots so we broke no rules. What you did in the face of the Zurich agreement was totally illegal and still si so the guilty one is you. Hiding behind barbaric times to cover your illegal actions is over Piratis and the world is showing that.

Here we go again with your wolf cries. What "murdering and starving" of your people mate? During the whole decade you lost a mere 800 people, and about 200 of which were in 1974 after the invasion had started. You are trying to exaggerate things out of proportion when in fact you were the ones killing us by the 1000s, and if there is one that can talk about murdering of my people, thats me, not you.
We didn't do anything illegal. There have been UN resolutions during that time about the fighting between the paramilitaries, and nobody apart from you claims that we did something illegal.
On the contrary there are crystal clear resolutions that demand the withdrawal of the occupation army from Cyprus, the respect of the sovereignty of RoC, and declare your pseudo state as legally invalid.

I personally see good and bad elements in both the TCs and GCs.
Here are some questions to Get Real:

From your OWN experiences
a)can the average TC be a REAL friend, even BETTER friend than the average GC?
b)Is the average TC generally more patient, and can generally swallow more betrayals from his friends, than the average GC?
c)Do you think the average TC relates with the barbaric image you and me have in our minds concerning the Ottomans?

You missed this bit out (again)

'Human settlements existed on Cyprus as early as 5800 B.C., during the Neolithic Era or New Stone Age. The Neolithic Cypriots' origin is uncertain. Some evidence, including artifacts of Anatolian obsidian, suggests that the setters were related to the peoples of Asia Minor (present-day Turkey). The discovery of copper on the island around 3000 B.C. brought more frequent visits from traders. Trading ships were soon bringing settlers to exploit the mineral wealth'

No it does not....Democracy means you follow the constitution you signed and if you want to change it you follow legal and just means and not the deciept and murder you followed.

So his ancestors could have been settlers instead of "indigenous" Cypriots but he likes to think of himself as an "indigenous Cypriot" and all settlers who came to Cyprus after his ancestors are "settlers" and not "indigenous".

Hey, that also means that he probably hasn't suffered since 1571 because his "settler" ancestors might have landed in Cyprus after 1571 and they "suffered" less then the "indigenous Cypriots" or were maybe Muslims, who knows eh?

And? Greeks + Cypriots = Greek Cypriots. Did you see anything criminal or wrong about the above?

If the "TCs" decide to assimilate to Cypriots, we would gladly accept them as well, like we did with so many others in our long history.

Nope - but why didn't YOU include it? (again).... after all, it does help explain where the 'indigenous' Cypriots came from...

Or maybe you thought that Cypriots did not exist until the Ottoman Turks who invaded Cyprus decided to be called "Turkish Cypriots" about 100 years ago?

Go read some history and then you will find many references for us Cypriots long before Turks even approached this part of the planet. (Probably at that time they were in some caves somewhere in Mongolia)
