own history the nucleus of the TC community were the Ottoman soldiers:
Following the defeat of the Venetians in 1571, Lala Mustafa Pasha, the Turkish Commander of the land forces in Cyprus, chose, before departing for Istanbul, 12,000 foot soldiers to remain on the island for the formation of the defensive garrison of Famagusta, Nicosia and Kyrenia. In addition, he distributed 4,000 cavalry men among the localities of Les Salines (Larnaca), Limassol, Paphos, Kyrenia, and elsewhere. The military forces were complemented by an additional 20,000 decommissioned soldiers and 2,000 cavalry remaining as colonists. These people as a whole formed the original nucleus of the fledgling Turkish-Cypriot community whose members were of Turkish origin, and by the firman (decree) of Sultan Selim II they were given fiefs for the provision of their homes, and sustenance. Steps were also taken to assist all soldiers with dependents on the mainland to bring their wives and children to Cyprus.
But of course when it suits you you have nothing to do with Turks and Ottomans, you just dropped from the sky in some unspecified time. Then when it suits you otherwise you claim 4 centuries of history in Cyprus to claim that you are not just a minority like the Pakistanis in the UK but the rulers of Cyprus (according to VP).
As for the rest of your argument......I think we should have a massive vote and the government you work for....which of course is Tpap and his EOKA B clan that he met a while back and shook the hands of....leave the island because you will not be Cypriots because you voted against the majority...How about that big boy.......The Tories should leave the UK because they are not British and all losing parties should leave their respective countries.......Where are you gonnna go big boy....

I said many times that I wouldn't mind to leave the past behind and discuss the present and the future instead. But when you keep bringing up some tiny selective and distorted version of the past, then we have to remind you of what you choose to forget.
You are trying to prove that GCs are the "evil" ones and TCs the innocent victims by presenting
only your own suffering and exaggerating it by a factor of 100. But if you compare that with the suffering you caused and you continue causing to us, then your suffering seems insignificant. This is why you don't like it when the whole truth is presented. Because your propaganda collapses.
The occupation of Cyprus by Turkey is
illegal and
inexcusable. If you go back in the past looking for excuses, the 99% of what you will find are more of the same aggression of Turks against us.
