Half a million dollars for a plot of land in a noisy area? Wow..Good Luck with your sale.
Despite this being just off a popular touristic area, despit the proximity to the beach and the Dhekelia Road, noise is reduced due to these plots being located in an exclusively residential area. Noise will reduce still further when road works are finished and traffic is diverted. The area will further improve when the oil refineries are relocated.
Greekgod, I'm not saying it's cheap but I'm prepared to sell at "current market prices". By that, I dont value differently by 50 to 100% depending upon whether I'm dealing with a buyer or a seller, like I know a lot of developers in Cyprus do. And I don't then ask for a big cash add on to my official asking price which effectively robs the buyer of his or her capital gains savings when (s)he comes to sell. As many people do this, it results in official prices as well as surveys values not reflecting the full and true picture. This practise only benefits those "in the know" about local customs which normally means a some Cypriots gain at the expense of normal people including foreigners.
I aim to sell at a fair price. Cy£200000 may seem a lot to you. I can sympathise with people who missed out on the property boom or who think property these days is expensive, but, in a global context, compared to more than three quarters of European countries (by definition, extending from Portugal to Russia) Cyprus property prices are still cheap. Looking at similar plots on the Livadhiotis website makes my plots look cheap by comparison.
