Both Turks and Rums(Pontians) dance this and is great to watch.
It - I am told - represents the Anchovies of the Black Sea (Hamsi?)

Nah, they put me to sleep. The belly dancing was less Turkish and more Lebanese with a twist of America thrown in.(probably)
But as you profess to be a Hellene (since you brought it up) what part of the Hellenic world are the Polynesians hail from. Why bring in the Hellenic or Turkish angle into this equation. I hope you are not showing 'racist' tendencies.

Polynesia is a Greek word . . . Many Islands.
The Turkish angle is that if the Hellenes colonised the Polynesian isles . . . the Turks would have followed and claimed half of them.

no, i was after the person who turned me on to that bellydancer, and i don't think it was TC, and Zan didn't take credit for it, so it must have been someone else. although zan just turned me onto another great bellydancer (thanks zan!)
